Ansel Emmit Smith Jr., age 47, 702 South 4th Street, Danville, Kentucky died 10:30 am Tuesday, January 5, 1993 at his residence. Born October 21, 1945, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Smith Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a painter, a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg and a 1964 Graduate of Harrodsburg High School.
Other survivors include: 1 daughter Elanda Smith, Lexington; 1 son Barry Smith, Indianapolis, In.; 5 sisters Betty Boyd, Cincinnati, Elizabeth Dismeaux, Cincinnati, Barbara Johnson, Paducah, Margaret Barger, Paducah, and Patricia Harlem, Frankfurt, Germany; 4 brothers, James Smith, Danville, Michael Smith, Harrodsburg, Solomon Smith, Lexington, and David Smith, Columbus, Ohio; 3 Grandchildren, 3 aunts, and 1 uncle.
Funeral servers were conducted 1:00 pm Friday, January 8, 1993 at the First Baptist Church by Rev. Jimmie Hodge. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Visitation was from 6 until 8 pm Thursday, January 7, 1993 at the First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Walter Fisher, Albert Mitchell, George Dean Srl, George Dean Jr., Fred Bottoms, and George Coulter. Honorary bearers were Michael VanDyke, Glenn Walker and Carl Bartleson.
The Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
