Donald "Buddy" Barnes, 61, of Harrodsburg died Monday, September 24, 2007 in Harrodsburg.

Born March 17, 1946 in Harrodsburg he was the son of Frances Smith Barnes, Harrodsburg, and the late Marvin Barnes. He was a self-employed painter and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.

He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors besides his mother include: three daughters: Patrice (Tracy) Goodlett, Stacy Murphy, and Amanda Barnes, all of Harrodsburg; four sisters: Margaret Claunch, Virginia Edwards, Elizabeth Jean Votaw and Joyce Ann Devine, all of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren: Laken Goodlett, Schyler Goodlett, Jersey McGinnis, Samantha Gish, Jessi Young, Nathan Simpson and Chelsea Teachey. He was preceded in death by one son: Donald H. “Bo” Barnes and one brother: Denzil (Denny) Barnes.

Burial with military rites was held at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Joe Curtsinger, Danny Curtsinger, Randy Curtsinger, Robbie Curtsinger, Bryan Springate, Denzil Claunch, and John Claunch serving as pallbearers.

Chaplain Gary Story, Allen Whitenack and Genie Sims officiated the services.
