Lucretia Anne Yates, age 50, 323 West Broadway died Wednesday, April 2, 1997 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born May 6, 1946 in Harrodsburg she was the daughter of Rosalind Morris Yates, Harrodsburg and the late Lucian Yates, Jr. She was a former chef at Holiday Inn, Danville and a former employee of Beaumont Inn, Harrodsburg. She was a 1964 graduate of Harrodsburg High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served in the Missionary Society.

Survivors other than her mother include three brothers: Dr. Lucian Yates III of Louisville and Rev. Phillip A. Yates and David M. Yates, both of Harrodsburg, two sisters: Janice Ann Jones and Betsy Y. Napier both of Harrodsburg. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church on Broadway in Harrodsburg with the Rev. M.L. Trabue and Rev. R.J. Gentry officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 6 until 8 pm and Saturday after 7:30 am at the Parks Funeral Home. The body was taken to the church at 11:00 am Saturday and lie in state until the hour of service. Memorials were suggested to First Baptist Church, 349 West Broadway, Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Active pallbearers are: Kevin Jones, Jason Jones, Phillip W. Yates, Anthony Gill, Ricky Jones, and Gary Mays. Honorary bearers are: Kenneth Jones, Scott Jones, James Thurman, Phillip VanDyke, Michael VanDyke, and Albert Mitchell.
