Current Events:
March 18, 2011 will be at the Prince Tech Annual Alumni Basketball Game. Robert Schuler has been working closely year after year with our Prince Tech administrators to ensure this event is a success. He has gotten over 100 Facebook 'confirms' indicating people will be in attendance. This is a family event...everyone is ask to come out and show your love and support for this wonderful event.
Our goal is to have a table set up at this event to sell tickets to our 1st Class of 88 "Make it Last Forever" Fundraiser at the Red Rock Cafe. This event will be held the same evening, immediately following the basketball game. Tickets are $10 and appetizers will be available and Cash Bar. If you would like to sell tickets please contact any of your fellow classmates.
Topics of Interest:
Due to the short timeframe and the lack of funds it was voted and agreed that the actual Class of 88 Reunion will not be held in 2011. We are looking at 2012 for the actual date and will keep everyone updated once we have locked in a date.
However, we have agreed to have a Halloween Masquerade Ball. This event will be on Saturday, October 29, 2011. This should be a fun event. Venues such as Marco Polo and Tastebuds were mentioned...we will finalize the venue as soon as possible.
Dues:
In order to get established we have voted that our dues would be $25.00 per month. (This would be accepted in the form of cash, moneyorder or check. There will be a fee for any returned checks). This can be discussed further in the next meeting.
Ben submitted $20 toward his dues. Once we establish our next meeting date we can submit our dues in the amount of $25.00 at that time. Ben would only need to pay $5.00
The money from the dues would be used toward supplies for upcoming events.
The attendees voted and it was agreed that our Treasurer would be Gail Kendrick
Upcoming Events:
Bowling Party: Ronell will gather the information about having a Family Bowling Party and bring that back to the meeting to discuss as a group. We are looking to having this event fairly soon.
Fundraising Events:
Cocktail Sip, Cook Out/Basketball Tournament
Topics for Further Discussion:
The bank account has not been established yet. Ronell will gather information regarding this process. We want to ensure the account can be access for deposits. Additionally, it was agreed that the President, Vice President and Treasurer’s signature would be required.
Ben Woods suggested that we have a Prince Tech Dinner/Party. This event would be open to all alumni of Prince Tech.
As you all know we already have a very well known DJ, however, we do need to discuss this with Joe. I would assume he would want to enjoy the reunion just as everyone else. This would need to be discussed to ensure there aren’t any discrepancies.
A photographer was referred to myself and Helen. This will be open for discussion.
Prince Tech their own website where there is a section for alumni. We can use this section to post events and help promote our reunion.
We are asking everyone to check the website at least once a week minimum. Please update your profile or even add a picture. However, we would prefer if you would utilize this site as frequently as possible.
Miscellaneous:
Lastly, as always please bring all your ideas and suggestions to the meetings or utilize the website. We are really trying to make this reunion, along with all the other events, a success. We will only accomplish this by working together as a team and respecting everyone’s view. Additionally, we realize everyone will not be able to attend each meeting. However, this doesn’t mean your voice can’t be heard. It would be your responsibility to call into the meeting via one of your fellow classmates or we can even utilize Skype (if we have Wi-Fi access) to ensure you are a part of the meeting.
Please keep in mind that plans are being discussed, and in most cases, decisions are going to be. These decisions will be voted by the individuals in attendance, on the phone or via Skype. The majority vote will be final….unless you can give a very strong argument. The floor will be open for you to give your argument and you will be heard with respect.
I thought it was necessary to add this into our minutes. We can discuss this further if there is anything that I may have inadvertently added or left out.

Prince Tech Class of 88 Reunion

Goals:
To jumpstart this whole process we would like to create a website. This site would feature pictures from our yearbook, fundraising events and the actual reunion. There will be a special area on the site so we can acknowledge our fellow classmates who have passed away. We will be working closely with Marcelina Milner, a friend of Helen. This young lady has successfully planned her own class reunions in the past. Helen will work to coordinate the date and time so we may discuss the website along with any other ideas. It was determined that there aren’t any funds in the kitty to fund the upcoming reunion. Therefore, it was voted that every member will contribute a $25 donation to help fund upcoming fundraising events.
Open a Bank Account. This account should require a minimum of 3 signatures prior to any withdrawals. Receipts for deposits and withdrawals will be available for all members to review. The goal is to have the bank account established by next meeting, which is March 4, 2011.

Next Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 @ 6PM. Red Rock Café @ 369 Capitol Ave., Hartford.
The goal for the upcoming meeting will be for everyone to bring 2 fellow classmates.
