Hi Kim: I've always loved being in the front row, so let me ask, since this event is being held in the summer, do you have any comments regarding "dress code" for this event? Thanks, Philip.

Answering the question from Donald Whalen regarding an RSVP for the Reunion-

We are encouraging all alumni, staff and friends of South Catholic to register at this site, even if you are unable to attend the Reunion, so that we will have contact information for future events and so you can connect with each other.

We would appreciate it very much if people that are planning to attend would RSVP though this site. It would help the committee as we are in the planning stage to know how many people are going to attend since we will be having a reception after the mass with food and beverages.

We are expecting a large turnout, but need those who have already RSVP'd to help us to get the word out. If anyone is interested in helping us spread the word, we have a PDF with information about the Reunion that you can be either e-mail or printed out and snail-mail to people who may not know about the Reunion. Send an e-mail to the Reunion committee e-mail SouthCatholicReunion@gmail.com to have it e-mailed to you so you can help us get the word out.

Reply to Donald Liberatore's question of where and when-

The Reunion is on May 22, 2010 at Northwest Catholic in West Hartford. Go to the home page of this site for more information.

Reply in response to Betsy and others that may have a specific dietary requirement-

The primary objective of the reunion is to re-connect with people. We are not having a sit down meal, but light hors d'oeuvres, which are being donated.  If you have a specific dietary requirement, you are welcome to bring your own food. We can use a refrigerator if it needs to remain cold.

Hello ALL!!! --- We are getting excited to reconnect with everyone again!!

I have a quick question ... should I get a babysitter for this kids for this day OR is this a family type event?? No issue either way, I am just curious!!

Reply to Rich and others with children who might be thinking ahead and wondering if they should bring their children to the Reunion or get a babysitter-

I would recommend lining up a sitter.  This event is primarily for adults affording them the opportunity to reconnect with fellow classmates, alumni and faculty.  In the future, if there is interest, perhaps we could plan a South Gathering that will be more of a family event.

I wish I heard about it before I made plans for that week.  Is this something you think might be held again?  I would like to attend the next one.

Response to Marsha's question about whether or not there will be another event like this one-

South opened in 1961. With all of the interest and excitement that has come about with this Reunion, it be perfect to have another gathering next year to celebrate 50 years of friendships that started on South Street!

Yes, another reunion next year would be wonderful.  Now that I am a member, I will be on the look out to make sure that I don't make plans like this year!

The following is an e-mail which was sent on May 9th to everyone who has registered at this site.

The  Reunion on May 22nd is approaching quickly. We are sending out this message to answer some questions, make a few announcements and to share some things about the website.

We need an accurate count of people who are attending the Reunion. If you plan to attend the Reunion, please make sure you have completed the RSVP!

Some of the people who have already registered on this site, indicated that they will be attending the Reunion, but they have not completed the RSVP. In order to determine how many people will be attending the Reunion and to be able to plan for the reception, which will include beverages and light hors d'oeuvres, we are requesting that you RSVP by May 10, by clicking on “RSVP for Reunion” on the left side of the home page.
