Janice McGregor-Carroll, 50, of Hartford, died Wednesday (August 27, 2003). Beloved, precious daughter of Minnie L. Chatfield, and predeceased Father Noel F. McGregor, Sr. Favorite niece of predeceased Aunt Mae Beach. Loving and cherished mother of Starr Carroll-Brown and husband, Kevin Brown, caring doting grandmother to Jonah, and Joelle Brown. She leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her sisters, Yvonne McGregor-McCaulley and family of Windsor, and her sister, Vilinda McGregor; three brothers, Noel F. McGregor Jr. and family of Hartford, Locksly E. McGregor and family of Cromwell, Bruce McGregor; nieces Lauren Romanik, Carla, Courtney, Dominique, Erica McGregor, and Jasmine McCaulley; nephews Marcus, Darren, Jarred McGregor, and, Quinton McCaulley; her loving cousins, Stephanie Brown and family, Foubisters, Woodard, Holliday and Jameson families, friends who loved "Jan" dearly, Linda, Pat, Lisa, Caroline, and a host of others. "Jan" was retired from SNET/SBC. She was a member of First Cathedral Church in Bloomfield, she attended church and bible study. "Whoever serves me must follow me and where I am my servant also will be. My father will honor the one who serves me." Jan sorely will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 4, 11 a.m. with calling hours at 10 a.m. First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Funeral arrangement are entrusted to Fuqua Funeral Home, Bloomfield.
