Carita Therese Rozie Obituary

Carita Therese Rozie passed away peacefully at her home in East Hartford, April 23, 2016. She is predeceased by her mother Margaret Lee Rozie and by her father Edward R. Rozie, Sr. Born August 11, 1953 she graduated from Weaver High School, and the University of Hartford soon after with a B.A. in communication arts. She spent her adult life working in the field of Aero Space as a purchasing agent with Kaman, General Dynamics, United Technology, Electric Boat, then the Children's services for the State of Connecticut as a social worker, and worked with the City of Hartford as a principal systems analysis agent before retirement. Her hobbies included gardening, travel, and reading, but she was most passionate about the care and fair treatment of animals in Ct. As an adult She donated to many animal relief organizations. She is survived by her sister Gayle Alston Green, Edward Rozie Jr., his wife Carolyn Pelkey, and L. Mixashawn Rozie, her nieces Betse Green and her husband Bill C., Nicole and her husband Sorin, Martinique Evanne Rozie, Lele Rozie, Moheka Rozie, and nephews Jason, Justin, and Nile Rozie, along with grand nephews and nieces Jan, Grace, Patrick, Lillian, Marcus, and Porsha. Her family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2016 from 11 AM- 12:00 PM at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor followed by a memorial service at 12 PM. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery directly following the service. So sorry to hear about the passing of Carita, I can't call the specific classes we shared, but there were many, and many happy memories of our talking and laughing and enjoying each other.  I'm not sure I have seen her since graduation, but her memory lingers.

My prayers go out to the family and especially her brother, who was with us at Weaver also.  God bless you all and may my dear sister rest in peace.
