Jimmy "Beetle" Daley was competitive in every aspect of his all to short life.  Playing shortstop for the Tigers, taking on the biggest kid in football at HHS, playing golf, tennis, or cards, Jimmy played to win.  His spirit was always a marvel growing up.  I know he was a very passionate & nice kid who was always at our door step when we lived on Rosedale Avenue!  Good Memories of "The Beetle"  Rest in Peace Jimmy!

Jimmy was my first cousin and we were only three weeks diff in age. We only lived a few blocks from each other, and we were actually like brothers. We would play ball, fish, and we even split a paper route together. I would go with his family, and He would go with mine on vacations or outings. We were on the same Little League team the tigers, (along with the Kennedy's). We also went to the same sunday school class. Jimmy was one of the most entertaining and fun persons to be around. He only had one problem, he could not get around water without falling in. He was taken from us way too early, I think of him regularly, and will always miss him. Don

I think it was 8th grade...Jimmy and I were in Boxing Club.  At the end of the year they held a series of 3-round matches, and Jimmy was my opponent.  I figured it would be a cakewalk for me...I had a longer reach and I was faster, and when we had sparred throughout the year, I had always been able control the action with my jab.  We touched gloves, the bell rang, and Jimmy rushed in and BOOM! popped me on the nose...and then he stayed after me like a crazed terrier.  He kept it up for all 3 rounds and I was so busy trying to get away from him that I never landed a punch.  He won an easy unanimous decision.  I learned that day to never underestimate the competitive spirit or courage of Jimmy Daley.  RIP my friend.
