After Hauppauge, I attended Farmingdale until I had a big motorcycle crash. Hospitalized, then bed-ridden, lost deferment, joined the Air Force.

Met my wife while stationed in Rome. Moved back to "The Island", lost "everything" in a real estate deal, moved back to Rome for the promise of a job ( that didn't work out - everyone started laying off when we got back here ).

Finally got appointed to the Rome Fire Dept in 1977 - retired 2004. My wife didn't want me to sit around and die "young", so I went back to work mornings over-seeing the other inspector's work. I got even with her though, I'm back on a bike after 35 years!

So, if you try to call, and I'm not at home or work - I'll probably be riding down some country road with a great big grin on my face!

Having to rush from one end of the building to the other between classes.

Many good memories, but probably the one memory which stands out the most was not at all a good one - Mike Ubriaco almost getting thrown through a second story window is the most vivid to this day!

"I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger" - I would have spent a lot more effort to really get to know everyone better! The best time in our lives for friendship, and it was taken for granted at the time.
