nn Hays Lindsey, age 61, of Old Fort, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 19, 2014 at her residence. Born in Alton, Illinois on August 17, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Robert Richardson and Earlene Richardson of Old Fort. Always environmentally active, Lynn, who is part Cherokee, is the perfect choice as the photographer for the Native American Historical Preservation Service, Inc. Lynn has spent her life taking pictures and knew quite young that photography was to be her passion and her vocation.
As a young adult she plied her craft doing wedding photography and publishing assignments. She perfected her skills and developed her unique perspective and technique studying at the Southeast Center for Photo/Graphics Studies in Daytona Beach, Florida. She also spent time under the tutelage of famed “Look” photographer, Robert Lerner and noted photos artist, Eric Brietenbach.
A photo artist herself, she was involved with many projects but spent most of her time capturing the beauty surrounding her in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Her work is cherished by patrons who share her love of the outdoors and her concerns for the health of our planet.
In addition to her mother, Lynn is survived by her brother, Tim T. Richardson of Louisville, Kentucky.
