Vicki Lynn (Biggs) Soer, 62, of Beardstown, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Dec. 10, 1952, in Springfield, the daughter of David and Frances Wasilewski Biggs. She married her high school sweetheart, David Soer, on July 1, 1972, at St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2001.

She is survived by her children, Angela (husband, Phil) Lisnich of Chicago, Megan Soer of California, and Alec Soer of Beardstown; three beautiful grandchildren, Mija, Ivy, and Cru Lisnich; one sister, Sheila (husband, George) Pullos of Naperville; her grand-dog, Rocco; her best buddy, Gizzy; and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Vicki graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1971. She attended Western Illinois University for one year and then married David and she followed him as he served in the U.S. Navy for eight years. They then moved back to Beardstown and her husband bought and operated Beardstown True Value while she stayed home and raised their children. After the death of her husband, Vicki took over running the store and continued the same personal service that her husband started, and has continued for over 30 years.

Vicki was a member of First Christian Church of Beardstown, Beardstown Emblem Club 474, Beardstown Chamber of Commerce, and Beardstown Lion's Club. She enjoyed traveling and found delight in spending time at the theatre for live performances. Creativity and design came natural to Vicki, but most of all she cherished her family and friends and was always willing to offer a helping hand.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Beardstown. Burial will be at St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery. An informal visitation will be held 8-9 a.m. Saturday at the church. The family will meet with friends 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
