So sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing as she was my first "date" in high school and Sheila (my wife of 49 years) and I saw her several times while we lived in Scranton while "in practice" there! Kit
I remember Carolyn well. She was a lovely person, inside and out. Her many achievements throughout her life reflect a life well-lived and characterized by integrity and altruism.
I had great respect for Carolyn in high school. She was a serious and caring person and,to me, a really beautiful girl. I send my deepest sympathies to her family and close friends.
My most vivid recollection of Caroyn was during our senior year. There were four seniors on the cheerleading squad and so we decided to co-lead the two sports-- 2 of us would co-lead for football and 2 of us for basketball. Carolyn and I were the co-captains for basketball games and we had a really great team that year! It was so outstanding that we went to the state championships at the Palestra!! The players played a really great game, the cheerleaders cheered as loud as they could and so did the fans!! It was really exciting to be there! As I remember the game went down to the wire, but unfortunately, we did not win and we were all really disappointed. I'm sure many of you remember this night. Anyway, I remember Carolyn as being lovely, bright, kind and personable. Regrettably, we did not keep in contact after high school so I was pleased to learn what a successful and fulfilling life she had surrounded by her loving family.
I have fond memories of our student days at HHS. Carolyn was a good student, gracious person, a cheerful friend to all and a competent leader. I wish our paths had crossed post high school but they didn't until the advent of Facebook. By then, disease limited her ability to communicate. I appreciated learning of her achievements in the obituary. I value the fact that who I knew her to be, continued all of her life. Condolences to her family.
A wonderful and talented lady who truly added much to the Class and during her career the communities that she called home. The listed accomplishments are a testiment of constant achievement and involvement. Our last meeting was driving her to the 5 Year reunion, I with my basic training hair cut. Sad to say that we never crossed paths again. To her family, "May her Memory be Eternal"
