John Lehr grew up with me - he lived up the street on the 1300 block of Harrington Road. Although we were not close friends, I always remembered him as a good guy. By coincidence, while visiting Havertown yesteday while visiting from New Hampshire, I parked my car in front of our former home and proceeded to walk up and down the street. At the cul de sac, I remembered pausing at the former Lehr household to remember all the "kids" on the block, which included John and his younger sister, Susan, as well as his parents -- all part of my 'growing up' past
I'm sorry to learn of John's passing and didn't realize how coincidental was my pausing to remember him, not knowing that he had just passed away.
Rest in Peace, John -- thanks for being part of my younger days.
Thanks for sharing your memories, Bob. We were notified by a member of the class if '65. John was a godparent to her child. John was married to Marilyn Hull (class of '65). He apparently died suddenly of a heart attack.
