Hi Fred,

Actually Joe and his wife were the first to respond.  They are both coming.  Did you really think his wife would let a good looking guy like Joe to come by himself?

Pat

How did time escape us all. Think about it. Like a mist our life's are almost over, and the older we get the faster the years go. My concern is for your soul, that you will live forever believe it or not. Heaven or hell, it is our choice, Choose Jesus and His free gift of salvation and ask him to come live in your heart, if you mean it He will and you will be born again, hard to believe, ask Him to give you the faith to believe, He will do even that. It's your choice, your church can't save you your Pope can't your Pastor can't, only Jesus Christ. Do not rely on men or women of this earth to get you there, they did not die for your sins, Jesus did. All the religion in the world can not save you, only Jesus, you are a good person, well hell is full of good people who denied Jesus Christ as their saviour. Even Mother Threasa's kindness will never get her to heaven, its not what you do it is who you know, you need to know Jesus personally, you must be born again, these are Jesus' own words. Jesus is God, He bacame like us so we could become like Him. Read the Gospel of John. YOU NEED JESUS NOW, TOMORROW IS PROMISED TO NO ONE. IF you died tonight, what would you see the next second, Jesus or Hell. That is your descision, I know most of you will reject Jesus and think I'm nuts, but I had to tell you in this manor, a little rough but to the point, I pray when you read this you will be convicted of being a sinner in need of Jesus, or get spitting mad at me. You need to make a chioce. I want as many of you to join Jesus in heaven for a reunion that will never end. God bless you all.GOD IS LOVE.

Hello All:

How beautiful that the Lord is using this site to send His messages of hope and love.  Jesus is truly the way, the truth and the life.

Love in Him,

Kathy (Aurich) Stryker

PS My wonderful husband went home to the Lord 12/6/11, after a long illness of early onset dementia (13 years).  It was only through faith in my Lord that I was able to walk that walk with him and be with him and our friend Father Carl when he went home.  So very beautiful.  Hard yes, but beautiful.  Romans 5: 5 .."and hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the  Holy Spirit that has been given to us."

I certainly respect everyone's personal religious beliefs. However, the original post on this topic elicited comments that could have been construed as offensive.  I do not think this is the forum for such debates.   My mom always told me that two things you never discussed with friends if you wanted to stay that way ...politics and religion.  I like to think we are friends here and we surely do not want to hurt feelings of anyone.

We are here to celebrate who we are...HHS Class of '62. I have enjoyed reading your posts in the past and I look forward to reading updates from you in the future. It's a great place to stay connected.

I hope those of you who can make the trip will join us at Shortways on Friday, October 11 at 7 PM. I have already heard from several people who will be attending.  Can't wait!

I would appreciate your consideration of my request.  :)

Carol Lee

Tried to go onto this site and received a message that the site registration had expired. I tracked down the people who run the site and renewed it for three years. I don't come on often but it is one of the few ways I have of keeping track of former classmates. Please keep posting and using the site to update what is going on in your life. I don't know about you but I do find it interesting to hear about what you have done and where you all are now since we all started from HHS.  Phil Perry

I did a little digging about Fred Wilson after being told that he had passed. I found this obit posted in Longmont CO.  Be at peace classmate. https://www.timescall.com/2020/01/16/fred-wilson-former-longmont-mayor-and-councilman-dies/

By the way, I use this website, I do not control or run it.

Still here and still reasonably healthy as I hope you all are. Doing all the things we are supposed to be doing while this virus is active. Made a list of things I can or need to be doing to avoid cabin fever. List actually will keep me busy for at least the rest of my life, no matter how long. Some items are more urgent than others but they all probably should be done. Thing that bothers me most is that I can't see and hold my granddaughters, and spoil them rotten. I'm lucky in that my kids call and check on us regularly. My oldest has tested positive for the virus but it is a mild case and he says it's a good thing to get it over with. He expects it will eventually get to almost everyone but my wife and I are trying to be last in line. I wish you all well, stay healthy and wash your hands. (How many times did your mother's say that to you.)

Hi Everyone,

Phil - it was so nice to hear from you and that you are doing well. My husband and I are staying home and hopefully healthy. Don't like being in the age category that puts us at more risk but time marches on. Thankfully we can get outside and play with our dogs (including a new puppy). Like you, we miss our family and our 2 grandchildren but we use Facetime. Weren't you in Mr. Wheater's senior math class with me? He was a great teacher. Dropped down out of Ms. Fahey's advanced class. Only a few days in that room told me I would soon be lost. Stay well.

I stayed in Miss Faye's class, had Mr. Wheater for Algebra and he was a great teacher. We were all a bit lost in Miss Faye's class but she was amazing. We were one of her disappointments. Someone had gotten an 800 on the math SAT's from her class for 7 straight years. No one got it in our class and she was very upset. You could tell because when she told us her cheeks were a bit redder than usual. I taught for 35 years. I also coached and did scorekeeping for several teams Don't know if you remember Mr.Vivino (taught Geometry as a first year teacher in 1960) but he showed up as a ref at a basketball game at my school. I recognized him right away and at half time I went into the office where the refs took the break. I must have made an impression when I was in his class. His back was turned when I walked in, I said Mr. Vivino, he turned around and said "Phil, what are you doing here?" I said I teach here. His response floored me. He said "Math?" I said no. He said "Why not?" We had a memory session about HHS.  The nurse in Howell High School was Janice Saner, wife of Al Saner, Hawthorne's football coach and my history teacher. It's amazing how things seem to circle back.

The quarantine is making me find new ways to amuse myself, I've been retired for 21 years so I'm pretty good at it but because of  my age and my wife that worries about me I had to give up one of my favorite distractions. I rode a motorcycle all over the country, sometimes with her but it became harder for her and when I went alone she worried so I sold the bike about a year ago. We still travel but now it's in the car, and right now there aren't many places to go hence finding ways to amuse myself. Stay well, be careful, try to enjoy whatever you do.   Phil

Hello,
you may know that I am reaching out to classmates about having a reunion in 2024.  I'm compiling an updated list. I've mailed surveys to those people that I don't have phone numbers for.
please contact me if you haven't heard from me.

I had a long conversation yesterday with Sue Murphy.  John passed away last year. I don't see his name on the memorial page. I don't know who is responsible for adding it.  Thank you.

Joan, When Fred Wilson (Original administrator) passed away they were going to close the HHS 62 page down but I tracked down the site controller and bought us 3 more years.I believe Carol Lee took over as adminstrator at that time. Not sure if she still has it or actually if she ever actually took over but hope this helps.  Phil Perry
