Carol’s 50th reunion poem

Welcome to our High School reunion

As 50 years have come to pass

We’ve Only Just Begun

was the theme song of our class

Every 5 years we get together

And we see each other age

Some look older and some look younger

Who cares, we simply turn the page

We get to be in high school once again

If only for a few days

Telling stories sure takes us back

In so many different ways

Some of you were cheerleaders and queens

And some of you were smart

Some of us used Cliff’s Notes

To win Sr. Amadea’s heart.

We will talk about knees, hips and shoulders

Our body and our heart

And just be glad we’re here

And that illness didn’t keep us apart

We don’t care if you are married or single

or if you’ve had kids or not

Or if your hair has turned grey

Or if your weight is a lot

In 50 years we’ve gone through much

Some carry small burdens and some carry a lot

But if you are from the class of 1972

You landed in the right spot

We’re so happy that you are here

It makes all the work worthwhile

Whether you traveled from far

Or only just a mile

So, embrace your looks

And embrace our age

Embrace one another

As we turn the next page
