Jeannine Susanne Giebler Cordes passed away on January 1, 2025 in Tonganoxie, KS. She was born on February 28, 1954 to Don and Dolores Giebler at St. Anthony's Hospital in Hays. As a spirited child and teen, she made her mark on Marian High School in student council. She will be remembered for waging a successful campaign to bring White Clover (soon to be known as "Kansas") to play at her senior homecoming in the fall of 1971.Jeanie then began her schooling for nursing. She pursued degrees at Bethel, Kansas Wesleyan, Fort Hays State University and Wichita State University. After graduating, she traveled and treated patients throughout Kansas and Nebraska.
Later, she moved to Olathe with her husband Larry Cordes where they were able to spend time with the loves of their lives, their grandchildren. They enjoyed participating in their activities and then getting to brag about how well they did. Jeanie was very proud of her children and enjoyed hanging out with them, their neighbors and their furry friends, Werther and Marilyn. After Larry's death in 2024, Jeanie moved to Tonganoxie where she enjoyed the fellowship of Cornerstone Church.
She is preceded in death by Larry and her parents. She is survived by her children Patrick (Liz), Brandon (Valarie), and Jaree. Survivors include her two sisters, Janese and Jacinta, eight grandchildren Lily, Irene, Heidi, Brody, Anthony, Rudy, Adriana and Raelynn along with numerous nieces and nephews.
