Michael Patrick CardozaJune 10, 1952 - August 30, 2013Resident of Castro ValleyMichael Cardoza passed away at home at age 61. Loving brother of Lawrence Cardoza (Barb), beloved Godfather of Amy Cardoza and loving Uncle of Jessica Lucas (Albert) and her precious baby Jaden. Jessica repaid Mike's lifelong kindness by adopting his black cat, Jack. He is also survived by his grandnephew and grandniece: Joshua Johnson, age 20, U.S. Army and Sydney Johnson, age 18, U.S. Navy, whose service to America made Mike so proud. Mike graduated from Hayward HS '70 and Chabot College '72. Mike was a retail clerk, dept mgr, and asst store mgr during his career at Ralphs, Gemco, Luckys and Albertsons since 1970. He retired in 2004 to unselfishly care for his elderly parents. Sadly, his revered mother Irene died in July and his own health gave out soon after. Mike had heart issues, prostate cancer, and several surgeries over the last decade. We are comforted knowing they are reunited in Heaven. At his request, no service will be held.
