My wife Jackie and I chucked the California life and retired to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina ( 25 miles south of Boone ) in 2008. I built a house on 15 wooded acres, complete with a 1.5 acre pond stocked with bluegill, bass, and catfish. I lost my Honey to cancer in 2015 but we had 30 wonderful years together. The pace of life here is pretty slow, but it suits me to a tee ! I visit with my children and grandchildren ( even a great-grandson! ) regularly. My Mom lives in Davis, CA near my sister Laura, and will turn 95 in June ! Was looking forward to our 50th reunion, but all I care about now is that all of you and your loved ones remain safe during this pandemic. Hope to see as many as I can of you when the event is rescheduled. I send all the love I can muster your way and hope that you are all doing well.
