Cynthia’s passing has been expected for a long time and now she has been freed from the body which let her down. Cynthia spent a number of year’s caretaking for her mother who suffered from the same disease, showing the caring soul that she had. Sadly it wasn’t too long after her mothers passing that she started showing signs of the same disease. Her brother Jim, who graduated a year ahead of us, has been taking care of her for the past years.

My memory of Cynthia always shows her with a smile on her face. The last time I saw her was in 2000 when the disease was in its infancy. Even then she was smiling.

11/1/09 was the day my first grandaughter was born! I just found out my childhood friend passed that day, I am at a loss for words and cannot or do not want to believe it. Cynthia and I use to play guitar together in 7th and 8th grade, we were lousy but we had fun! We kept in touch with each other until about 5 years ago. We met a BretHarte and hung with each other every morning before school started, I am deeply saddened beyond words right now.

I enjoyed having lunch with Cynthia everyday. She was fun, always quick and very bright and artistic. Cynthia loved Olive sandwiches. And taught me to like them too.  Now every time I have one I think of her. For desert everyday she bought a Payday candy bar. Like her sweet with a little salt. Her brother Jim must miss her dearly. I am so sorry to her of her passing.

I still think about Cynthia every day of my life.  We took three trips to Europe together and traveled throughtout the US and Canada.   She was the instigator of these trips and I just happily followed along.  Wonderful times.   I find it unbelievable that I'm still commuting to the city to work and Cynthia is gone.   I miss you dear friend.  Enjoy every single day of your life; it is going by way too fast.

I was shocked and saddened to read about Cynthia's passing at such a young age and with such a terrible disease!  It hit too close to home for me.  My parents both suffer from Alzheimer's / dementia.  My dad is 91, and was diagnosed w/ Alzheimer's in 1999.  For the past 4 years he has been in the Memory Unit of St. Regis (remember the old Doric Hotel on Mission at Foothill?)  The following year my mom fell, broke her hip and while in the hospital was diagnosed with dementia and the Dr. told us she should never live alone again; she is in a Care Home in Castro Valley.  With both parents having mental issues, it made me feel that it was 100% my destiny, too.  On June 21, 2010 a friend invited me to watch a 10-minute investigative report that aired in 2005 on ABC's Primetime News program; I want you to watch it, too: www.ABCLiveit.com (and notice all the links above it such as "Science Update", "How it Works", "Glutathione", etc.)  Some of you may remember that I was always most interested in Math/Science at HH; when I went to Stanford I continued taking behavioral science classes, but graduated in Child Psychology thinking that I would be a school teacher...until I had my own 2 kids.  I knew I wouldn't have the patience with mine after working all day with 30 others!  I give you teachers out there tons of credit!  Anyway, the science behind this is amazing and I could go on and on about it, but it is the one thing that gives me hope that I can walk down a different path than my parents!   It's not just about Alzheimer's; it gives all of us a chance to live a better, healthier life because it improves the health within our cells, at the core of our well-being! It is not just a juicy juice drink claiming to have the world's most powerful antioxidant. The truth is: 1 molecule of an antioxidant destroys 1 free radical, then it's done! Not enough to keep up with the 300 septillion free radicals we have in our bodies!  This is all part of the aging process!  But here is breakthrough science at its best! This Dr. Joe McCord was awarded the Elliot Cresson Medal, putting him in the same category as Paul and Marie Curie, Alexander Graham Bell, Henry Ford, and Orville Wright!

We are only 62 years old!  Our names shouldn't be on an "In Memory" list!  We are too young!  For any of you who are still interested in doing marathons or just being the best you can be in the gym, this has been approved by BSCG (Banned Substance Control Group) for use by our Olympic and Professional Athletes!  It is being studied by the US Armed Forces because of the benefits of shortened muscle recovery after extreme exertion and improved breathing in high elevations.  There are currently 16 peer-reviewed studies on the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health website: www.pubmed.gov and many more studies are in the works.  It has 6 patents and is publicly traded on NASDAQ: LFVN for Life Vantage.  I hope you will take this seriously as your Health is the most important thing in your Life!  I am happy to talk to any of you about this and can tell how you can do more research on this and any specific disease or health issue you are concerned about, including cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, MS, Parkinson's, even less traumatic: glaucoma and gum disease, etc.  My contact info is LisaNC21@aol.com  or (707) 291-5800 cell   I hope to see you all happy and healthy at the next Reunion!  To Your Good Health!

Sincerely,

Lisa (Jimenez) Nunes

Hi Classmates,

Remember yesterday I said that it's the science that excites me!  Well, there is one more thing I wanted to let you know about.  (This is a continuation of yesterday's comment, so please read that one first to have this make sense.)There are 16 studies published on www.pubmed.gov   In the 9th study they looked at 3 major diseases:

" Heart Disease: 19 genes identified

Cancer of the Colon: 28 genes identified

Alzheimer's Disease: 66 genes identified

These affected genes are expressed in a negative manner causing the disease.  In each of the diseases, Protandim normalizes this gene expression allowing the body to overcome the effects of the disease and correcting the adverse effects! "  The study of these individual genes takes time and money, but so far it appears that this somehow knows what genes need to be up-regulated or down-regulated to keep our bodies in a healthy state!

T-BARS are lowered 40% in 30 days.  They are a better predictor of Heart Disease than Cholesterol!  In another study, the American Heart Association wrote about it in their Journal, Circulation with the findings that this prevents Congestive Heart Failure, Fibrosis and allows by-pass grafts to survive longer!

The Drug Companies are scrambling trying to make a synthetic drug that will do as much as this will. So far they have failed and even after spending millions of dollars, their own tests proved that this far outweighs anything that they had produced.  And this is All Natural (a nutriceutical): 5 plant ingredients that your body easily digests.  It is recognized by your body as a food, not as a synthetic drug which is why there are no side effects.  If doctors are honest, they will admit that they were not trained much on Nutrition; they are trained to treat symptoms of diseases with drugs, but not to prevent diseases in the first place.

You are my classmates!  You are my age!  I don't want to see any more names on this "In Memory" list for at least another 30 years!  Please take a look for yourselves; think about what's on your Medical Family Tree: what diseases do you want to try to avoid?  For me, it is Alzheimer's without a doubt!  Good Luck to you.  Please stay Healthy!

Best Wishes,

Lisa (Jimenez) Nunes       (707) 291-5800 cell   or    LisaNC21@aol.com
