Deceased Classmate: Mary Margaret Bowles Date Deceased: 6-8-04 Age at Death: 54 Cause of Death: Classmate City: Terre Haute Classmate State: IN Classmate Country: Survived By: Betsy Bowles Brown, sister
Mary Margaret was the director of student services in the Women's External Degree Program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre haute, Ind. Mary Margaret was a blessing to us all. Simply put, God did exceptional work on Feb. 21, 1950. I have so many very special memories of MM. She was one of those extraordinary people who inspired us for her entire life. I saw her very early in the 1970's in DC when she was working as an intern one summer. We wrote to each other at times over the years. We laughed about being cast as tall men in the May Day celebration in third grade, singing spirituals in the sixth grade, and making that final walk together to receive our high school diplomas.

I can't think of many woman that I admire. Though years of not seeing Mary Margaret...I know she always remained faithful to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Chirst. I am happy to have been a classmate and I hope a firend. I was so hoping to see her at this Reunion.....what an amazing woman whom I have always looked up to and not just because she was taller than me.martha h napier

I cannot express enough gratitude to MM for the friendship we had from Reedville school to NHS. I was always depending on her for help. Now if I had listened to her and Priscilla, my dad would not have sent me off to Hargrave. Thats another story.Regrets:
That I did not persue the opportunity to see her one time that I heard she was in town.

I was saddened to hear of her passing..., sorry that she was so far away from the many who would have liked to have been there for her as she always was for us. The popular WWJD expression could have been created by her...not just in words but in everthing she did, the way she treated everyone, every day. We all have a "Boonie" story about how her life touched ours. She was an inspiration and just plain old good friend.....I'm sure she is where she should be right now, with her "Best" friend.

Sue Haynie (Marks)Perhaps no one knew of the great friendship that MM and I had - since I was born in Fleeton on February 25th (of 1950 - 4 days after MM) - we grew up together - My Mom and her Mom were friends and (once) neighbors...whenever I got to come "back" to visit (all the way from Callao) I couldn't wait to go to her house to play!!!...She and I knew each other from day-one...she was a truly amazing person - gifted with brillance and great humility!!! She was a great friend and kindred spirit....it was a blessing to have known her!

Boonie was a great friend and person. I so regret I didn't get to say good-bye to her. I remember the band trips and her singing Dean Martin's "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime." She was so smart, but most of all kind. I couldn't have picked a better Lab partner in Chemistry. I can remember her cheering on the football and basketball teams. She was special!!

I was proud to say she was my sister-in-law, a wonderfully witty, intelligent woman who traveled the world and enjoyed life. She never had children of her own, but thoroughly enjoyed her three neice/nephews who adored her. MM we miss you so much an wish you were back here with us! We love you!
