I moved to Hemet when I was a sophomore from Clackamas, Oregon. It was a very to move at that age, but I grew to like Hemet very much. We had a business in Hemet for nearly 20 years, but in 1980 we decided to move our family to Utah. It has been a good move for our family.
Most of our kids live here in Utah, but we have a daughter in Denver, one in Dallas and as son in Las Vegas. To date we have 21 beautiful and healthy grandchildren. Our oldest grand daughter is getting married this week, so it is possible that we could be great grandparents within a year or so.
For many years we have had a family business here in Utah which keeps all of us very busy and challenged.
We have been married nearly 45 years now, and have had a happy and eventful life together.
One of our favorite things to do has been to travel. We have been privileged to see a lot of North America, the Caribbean and several countries in the UK and Europe, including cities that my ancestors came from. Our trips have been thanks to frequent-flier miles, and we have felt very lucky to have had the chance to go while we were still young enough to enjoy it.
I have been spending many, many hours searching for my ancestors and have enjoyed learning about where they came from and finding out what I can about their lives. Presently, I have been working as a volunteer at the Family History Library at BYU which has been very helpful as I search for my own ancestors.
One of the highlights of our travel is actually finding and walking through the 400+ year old, thatched, stone home of one of my ancestors in England. I have been able to see many of the places my family has come from
We have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints for many years and have been so grateful to have had it to share with our children and grand children. Joining the church has been the single most important choice of each of our lives and has brought us much
peace and happiness in this very troubled world.
