John lived in Hemet most of his life. He married Patricia Guadalupe Astorga on August 16, 1969, in Riverside County. I believe he retired from the telephone company and then moved to the Escondido area around 2005. I noted his obituary in the Press Enterprise the following year. He Died June 28, 2006. John was a great guy who always wore a big smile. He'll be missed. Most of this infomation was contributed by Gary Fritzinger.

John and I went from Winchester to graduation together. I remember he would chide me for not enunciating the ends of my words. Such as dropping the t from couldn't. He was a good honest man that would give you what he had if you really needed it. Always a smile and a hug. His cancer ate away at him until there was little left. So sad.

I knew John pretty well, as did most of us. I last saw him at one of our reunions, but don't remember exactly which one. We had several laughs together. He was a great guy and left us WAY too soon!
