In Memory

Eric Nicolet (Teacher)

Eric Joseph Nicolet was born March 9, 1922 in London, England.  He came to the United States when he was 3 years old.  He lived in Elbridge, Onondaga, NY when he was 8 years old. He graduated from Oswego college in Oswego, New York.  He was a bomber pilot captain during WWll and  he flew combat missions over Germany.  He was the lone survivor of his crew and talked to his co-pilot every night at least from 1956 to 1961 and probably after that.   He was married to Joanne Frances O'Keefe who was born in New York on December 8 1929 and died December 24, 1965 in San Bernardino County.  He lived in Idyllwild and taught at Hemet High during the 60's.  He moved to Ventura in his later years and died there on Sept 5, 2005 at the age of 83. He is survived by one son, David, who has given me much of this information.  He was a wonderful teacher who seated us in alphbetical order, forcing us to make new friends.  We all loved him and will miss him.

What an amazing man...little did I know......
I always credited Mr. Nicolet with getting me through college because he taught us how to construct a term paper. I remember his jaunty bowtie and his love for literature.
Blessings Mr. Nicolet!!
