To Darrell,
I had no idea that you were still in the military. You need to let me know where you are going to be and I'll try to link up. If you end up down south or out west, it may be difficult. If you're anywhere Bagdhad and north, I get to most of those places. I noticed you have an AKO email. Send me a detail at chris.mabis@us.army.mil.
Also, would you go get Todd off the tractor long enough to get in touch. I wonder if he even has a computer?
To Perry,
Thank You for the words of encouragement. I would submit that after doing this several times, the families back at home are the heroes. My Wife has to keep working, take care of the house, the baby, and the bills. I have been deployed for a total of 37 months since we have been married and she puts up with it... and me. I also appreciate all the support that we receive from everyone at home. As for politics, of which you speak the truth, I try to steer clear of the conversation. I try to remain focused on faith, family, and career. Lord knows I didn't have that focus until I was about 30, so I figure I have catching up to do.
To All, Enjoy the upcoming time with friends. Thank you to the people who are putting this together. I will try to update photos on my profile from time to time, the bandwidth isn't great here. If anyone was wondering where here is, I am in Tikrit, Iraq. I work in the Northern Iraq, from Bagdhad north up to Mosul. It is sandy and hot. We have sand storms about once a week and the temp has been between 110 and 120 since the beginning of June. It's like someone holding a hot blow drier in your face constantly. I do work in an office, but I'm out circulating and conducting missions 2-3 days a week. Keep me posted on how the reunion goes. If someone gives me a phone number, I will try to call in.
Chris
