10 years U S Navy Seabees, MCB 4 and RMCB 14, with 1 tour in Vietnam. 22 years U S Air Force reserves, 482 Civil Engineers, Homestead AFB FL.

What's your favorite memory of HHS

Howard Bill Zeller's face on the sports page of the Miami Herald after the Hialeah-Miami High football game in the Orange Bowl. Skipping school on the last day of class and going to the 71st St. Beach with Fran Ackerman, Howard Zeller and Sharon Daugherty.

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

My bucket list is very long, too long. I would like to see the Grand Canyon, Washington D.C., and Mayo County Ireland, attend the Masters, Indianopolis 500 and the Kentucky Derby, catch and release a marlin or trout of any size and species, have dinner with my wife in Rome and live long enough to see my newest grandson play sports.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

That I went to Miami Central High School for two years to study Architecture. I lied. I actually fell in love with Francine Jolly Ackerman and took her away from Tim McMillan, my dear friend, and transferred to Hialeah to play football and be closer to her.

Wow Buddy Parks is what we used to call you. You had a younger brother Sam I believe who my younger sister was crazy over. You ate egg salad sandwiches every day of the week. Happy Birthday my friend!

Matt I remember you and me and your brother Thomas and Harry Moos used to catch turtles and put them in big containers in your back yard. I believe you live on Hialeah Drive at 7th Avenue across from Billy Wallace and down the street from Jimmy Fleming. Wow those were the good old times. Happy Birthday mine was in August. God bless.

Ed, There is lots of information on the computer about your friend Mr. Artman. Just type in his name then Hialeah and obit and you will get lots of information including the actual casualty report, awards, burial place, etc. I wrote his cemetery location down and will try to visit him in May when i'm in Knoxville. God my brother in Uniform.

Matt, Happy Birthday pray you have many more. How is your brother Thomas? I remember him and Harry Moss used to catch a lot of turtles and we put them in your back yard in big metal bins. You lived on Hialeah Dr. across from Billy Wallace and near Jimmy Fleming, right? Stay safe.

Wow it has been a long time. Pray you and Shirley are doing well. We had a nice visit from Walt and Brenda Tylicki. We have talked to Madelyn Hathaway. The 100th anniversary of Riverside is in October. I wanted to go and give a little history update as I started going to Riverside in 1951 as a 6 year old. I remember lots of good times. Where are you living now? Give us a call.

I remember Spinks Auto Parts and the almost world famous Hialeah Miami Springs Auto Parts on Palm Ave. I dropped many a dollar into their coffers for my 1953 Chevy that I bought from Billy Wallace great grand mother. The guy that waited on me was named Cecil and he smoked constantly. Did you work at the Miami Herald?

John, it has indeed been along time. I think about the gang often. Talked with Harry Moss last week. He is retired now and doing fine. Happy birthday and I wish you many more.

Sergio I believe you lived on 39th Terrace in Virginia Gardens about 4 doors down from me. You were friends with Donnie Hamilton and the Kisner family(Diane and Eula) lived across the street. I believe you had a younger brother and sister. I worked at Grace's Deli and dated Connie Houston. Welcome to the gang.
