After graduating in 1998, I went on to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University. I was a student there until Dec. 2002, when I graduated with a BS in Parks and Recreation Management and a minor in Outdoor Leadership. It was at NCSU where I met Shane, from Texas, in my final year of school. After graduating in Dec., we both worked a few months to save money to accomplish a dream. In March of 2003, we left to hike the 2,172 mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. This was a wonderful experience that brought us closer as a couple and made us stronger people. After completing the hike in Sept., we moved back to Raleigh, began careers, and were married in 2005. I worked for the City of Durham, creating an Adventure Program for their Parks and Recreation Dept., while Shane worked for the Teen Program for Raleigh's Parks Dept. In 2006, Shane took a job as the Asst. Director for Camp Cheerio out of the High Point YMCA. This ironically brought us back to my home town of High Point, and changed my path to work with the school system to allow me my summers at camp. It has been a good several years, splitting time between High Point and summers at Camp Cheerio. We were expecting a baby in April of 2009, but now have a beautiful baby girl, Adaline Kelly, who decided to arrive in February. Life is good!
