Vicki and the entire reunion committee, thank you again.  I thought this was a very healing event. It was wonderful seeing our class so cohesive, and with so much compassion. I thought it was also very moving for those of us who went uptown Sunday morning to visit the memorials. It was so inspiring seeing “HP Strong” painted in our school colors on the business windows, and reading all the chalk messages on the sidewalks. The timing of this event seemed perfect!......Gayle

Wow, what an event! Thank you to the entire committee for making it so wonderful. I'm sorry I had to leave so early missing visits with so many of you, and missing the PHOTO!, but you are none the less in my thoughts! I heard the desserts were spectacular and that Harris was his amazing, touching self that we all know, speaking for all our hearts, thank you Harris! The evening connecting with so many was a much needed boost. Yes, let's please do this again in 5 years, I'll happily do my best to help make it happen however I can.

It's so wonderful to read all these messages!  I agree with Dickie Silverman, I have more high school friends now than when in school!  I enjoyed working with Marcy Schwachman Saltzman on the decor for the evening.  I loved talking to new people and seeing so many others.  I agree with Gayle that the timing couldn't have been better, to help the healing process.  There seems to be interest for another gathering in 5 years, so keep that in mind!
We are forrrtuante.

I too had a great time as as was said by some of you, I would gladly get Covid to do this.
well, I got Covid. Was talking with Jeff Brinkman and he got it.
I'm feeling horrible and hopefully no one else gets sick. Thanks bud to the committee.

I'll add my thanks to Vicky and the Committee for organzing the reunion. It was amazing to me how many people I reocognized -- even before seeing their name tag -- and how many voices I recognized.  It was wonderful to catch up, share memories (including some of events that I was at but had no memory of!) and reconnection.  Special shout-out to the girls of Ravinia Elementary!

Hi Vikki and the entire reunion committee - Bravo for the wonderful reunion you spearheaded. Everything was perfect, from the readable name tags, to the amazing dessert table and everything in-between. But the icing on the cake was how well you rounded up all the alums to create such a well attended event! It is a testament to your passion for our Class of '72 and keeping us all connected no matter how far we have scattered. Thank you again for a reunion we will never forget!

DEAR CLASSMATES...

Well I am the fifth person to test positive tonight for covid.  I saw so many of you friday and saturday and wouldn't trade the times we had.  I just thought the right thing to do was to let you all know.  please be well and be safe and we will hopefully be together again soon.

Harris

Many thanks to the committee for the time, effort, energy and love they contributed to making our reunion such an incredible success. It was wonderful to reconnect and catch up with each other. Those who were unable to attend were sorely missed but in our thoughts. I agree, let's do this again sooner rather than later! Again, thank you to our committee for a job well done. It was such a pleasure to see everyone!

Harris, thank you for letting us know you tested positive for COVID.  I appreciate you informing us so we can take some precautions too.   If I’m correct, Sarah, Mike, and Jeff all had symptoms of COVID?

I would like to thank the reunion committee for being responsible for asking those who have symptoms to inform those they had close contact with.  I realize this might mean ½ our class, but it’s still good to be informed. I don’t have symptoms, but I plan to isolate myself for at least another day.

I’m glad I attended the reunion, but in hindsight, I should have worn my mask.  It was awesome reconnecting with everyone!  Yes, I thought it was definitely worth the risk.

I loved being at the reunion and reconnecting with everyone - Although I mostly stayed outside, covid managed to find me as I tested positive yesterday.  I felt a dry sore throat and a bit sneezy... but mostly not bad.  Bill Burns, Sharon and Jim, Mike R, Steve G, Billl B, Sarah, Janet B, Toni S, Gary M, Jeff B, Guffy, Penny, John P, Paula S, Joyce M, Rick C, Richard S. and anyone else I may have left out that I didnt reach out to I hope you all are ok.

Since I only came inside for the group photo, I missed connecting with so many as I was trying to be so covid aware and careful. The list still goes on. It was a wonderful night and I appreciate all the time and love put into planning and making it happen.

This is a hard note to post for so many reasons.
With much love, Jeanne Fishman

Such a great job by the reunion committee. Your hard work was so evident. So much fun and yes a magical evening. Connected with so many more people than I had friendships with in High School. I committed to help coordinate a 70th birthday event and anybody interested in helping feel free to reach out. I think Vikki needs a break! It's so sad that people got Covid and my prayers are with them.

Moments in time and what a time it was in history.
I am trying to hold onto my sanity , trying to sort out the world we exist and how to navigate where we now....

Our 50th class reunion was really a reunion of a so many connections, not just faces but a connection in a time of our youth we shared together.

My life at that time at ETHS was a "Blue Sky" Almond Brothers moment.

Yes, I loved seeing everyone.

Please keep your loved ones and friends close in your hearts, never forget that friends and family matter.

Thanks to everyone on the reunion committee for making the evening happen so successfully.

Respectfully,

.Nanette Loeff Allen

Thank you-- everyone who helped organize the HPHS 50th reunion, and those who attended.
It was a very unusual night for me because I signed up on impulse hoping to see what was so supposedly interesting about such an event. I expected a hand full of senior citizens with golf stories. I imagined I would keep my mouth shut for ninety minutes and head home no worse for the wear. Wow, was I wrong. I had so much fun I barely got a taste of food-- which was excellent by the way.
What fun. Time traveling through shared memories. A little sad too.
Thanks Vicki, and thanks everyone.

It was so wonderful for me to see everyone.  Not just to connect to the past, but to feel reconnected in a whole new way going forward.  I'm feeling fine, but plan to get tested for COVID tomorrow in the wake of this discussion.  Sadly, COVID is just something we are going to have to live with.  But the operant word is "live," and keep living!  Here's to all of us being around in another ten years for the 60th.

So as the saying goes “IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME”

We built your reunion and you came!!! The response has been so favorable, on behalf of the entire committee THANK YOU!!!!!

I am definitely on board for our 70th birthday celebration, or ‘72 at 72, or our 55th Reunion, or all the above!!!

The next question…If I bake it will you come???

I am really enjoying all the pictures, trying to recapture our wonderful weekend together!!!

Hugs to all of you!!!

I am beyond sorry I missed our reunion.  Thank you to everyone who posted pix and to our valiant leader, Vicki, for being the nudger extraordinaire!  Everyone looks exactly the same as 50 years ago.

Whatever you decide about the next one, I'll be there.  (serious fomo)

I definitely vote for a 55th reunion. It doesn't have to be as spectacular as the 50th, just an opportunity for everyone to get together. Love and thanks to all who made it happen!

I will be one more voice in the HPHS Alumni Chorus - Thank you Vikki - and the entire reunion committee for putting in all of the time, effort, and love to organize a lovely evening and entire weekend for class of 1972 to enjoy.  I was so happy that it wasn't pouring rain like our graduation night!  Lost past memories were recalled and new memories were made. Everyone in the class was so gracious, friendly, and seemed happy to be there.  I only wish I could have had more time to talk to people in more depth. Looking forward to the next get together.

Now that we are over a week out from the reunion - hopefully eveyone who contacted COVID is having a mild case and also that our mini COVID epidemic is now fully contained. Sending my best wishes that everyone has a short mild case - and is taking Paxlovid (if necessary). Please let us all know how you are doing - we're all concerned.  And my final hope is that the current HP residents will be able to heal and bcome HP Strong again.

Vikki your scrumptious brownies, chocolate chip and lemon cookies were the best. Yum.... Would you share any of these recipes with us??
