Rick Goldberg

Since high school I've either been in school, training for my career as a physician, or working as a medical professional up until my retirement in the summer of 2023. My medical career included 3 decades as an emergency physician and occupational medicine specialist (work injury specialist). From 2018 until my retirement in 2023 I transitioned out of the emergency department to practice exclusively as an occupational medicine physician. I was extremely fortunate to meet my wonderful wife in 1985 at a large public type birthday party at what was then Side Dishes Restaurant at Superior and Orleans on Chicago's near north side. As it turned Beth happens to be a HPHS graduate from the Class of 73! After graduating from the University of Michigan and working for two years in Ann Arbor until 1980 I have lived in the Chicago area. Among my most joyous recent activities is the welcoming into our family our 3 young grandchildren (ages 2 & 1/2, 1 & 1/2, and 1 month old!
