If I recall, Kenny was walking by a construction site with a co-worker when a wall bordering the site collapsed and fell on him. His co-worker narrowly escaped. Very freak accident and a sorely missed friend.
Ken lived across the street from me at the time. Neil is mostly correct, but it wasn't a construction site. He was walking past a building with a gated entrance. A truck was leaving the parking area, and somehow hooked onto the gate which was ancored in a brick wall which surrounded the building. When the truck pulled the gate, that pulled the wall down. Ken and a co-worker were on the sidewalk (Ken closest to the wall). The co-worker was able to jump out of the way when the wall came down, but Ken was trapped underneath. It was tragic. Since then his 3 kids have grown and are doing well last I heard. His wife Donna moved about 2 years ago. Now and then we still hear from her.
Judy got 98% of the information correct. My cousin, Fred Garday, was his best bud (and former neighbor) and got this nfo from his older sister Roxanne. She said Kenny pushed his companion out of the way (witnesses confirm this). He probably realized he didnt stand a chance. But Kenny always did have a really big heart!. When EMS retrieved his body, he was bent completely in half (backwards), his back/spine severed. We can only pray God was with him at these final moments and it was mercifully quick.

I'm sad to hear about Ken. I hadn't spoken to him since HPHS, but he was a stand-up guy and I grieve for him and his family's loss.

Every day we get is truly the ultimate bonus!! Be Well to All Classmates.

I remember seeing him post - HPHS , at the wooden nickel in Highwood, during one of our summers in college.
We spent a good part of the night laughing and reminiscing aboutour high school days.
He was a good man with a big heart and cared about many of us.
We have lost some good classmates over the years - Steve Nardini, Kevin Mueller, Mark Canmann etc.
God bless Kenny and all of you.
