A man fleeing police on Tuesday night was killed after he lost control of his car and crashed into a light post, police said.

Hollywood police say they tried to pull over Scott Lee Boyansky, 39, about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Dixie Highway and Sheridan Street. Undercover police said Boyansky was a suspect in a drug deal.

Police said Boyansky, of Hallandale, refused to stop, even after crashing into construction barriers, which gave him a flat right-front tire.

Police said the tire eventually came off the car, but Boyansky drove for another 30 blocks into Davie before his car crashed into the light pole and overturned at Stirling Road and 68th Avenue.
