A beautiful tribute per Jeff Galovic:

Bill Sempf was my best friend from the time I was 4 until I was 11. You probably ask how you can put a date on it--well he lived across the street until we both moved away to different neighborhoods. When you are 11 different neighborhoods might as well be different countries, I remember Billy and I playing baseball almost every day in the summer--he was a good catcher. I remember him and I catching Monarch butterflies. I remember we both were somewhat of a pyromaniac--we used to start fires in the empty lots and use a board to stop them . His mom Carol has a match collection and when I would stay overnight we would get into them and try to light small fires(not a smart thing). I remember when we went to St Bridget’s in the 1st grade and they called off school after a half day--they called all the parents except Billy's and mine--we sat on the church steps and everyone was gone--we were 6 years old and it was pretty scary. Billy walked home-- a 2 mile walk on his own--I was always impressed with that. After the age of 11 we didn't spend much time together--in fact I hadn't talked to him I'm in nearly 30 years. However, I owe him for having a great friend growing up and will always be grateful to him for that. I'll always remember him as a good catcher, a good bowler and the best friend a kid could have growing up.

I couldn't have said it better, Jeff.
