Richard was married twice to Carol Johnson and then to Sandy Johnson.
He had one child by each wife, and after the 2nd child was born in April 1968, Sandy and Dick came over to Sam and Cynthias home in Franklin and asked us to adopt his one month baby boy. Having just had our 1st child (Debbie) in March 1968, we did not feel we could bring up 2 children (babies) at the same time. Shortly afterward, Bob Chesmore informed me, having known that I was a close friend of Dick Gordon's, that he had committed suicide in June of 1968. RIP dear friend. You are truly missed every day.
