Tell us about your family...
I’ve been married for around 15+ years, I have one beautiful daughter, Kiana, and a dog, Francee.
Tell us about your work/career...
I did my undergrad at UNLV and MBA at UPenn Wharton. I worked in private equity and venture capital for several years before starting my own mid cap fund that did well but I had a stroke, so I retired from that and just manage my investments. My current project is running and owning one of the largest Judo schools with over a thousand students. It keeps.me young and I love working with kids. I plan on making a few Olympians.
What was your biggest accomplishment (most proud of) since graduating from Kaiser? ...
Hmm, I like being able to buy my parents stuff but lots of people do that. I have a student that is a really shy and small Filipino girl, Alexa. Her parents didn't really expect much out of her and just thought she would grow up to be a nurse. She is my daughter's best friend so when she would come over and show off her self defense moves. When I opened my Judo/BJJ school she and my daughter was my first students. Currently Alexa is the youngest senior national Judo champ and 4XJr Olympic Champ. I'm the most proud of this cause it's really something money can't buy.
What is your best memory of high school? ...
I have a ton of great memories from Kaiser!! How's about the burger food fight at the Burger Bash! I guess if I had to pick something that stuck with me I had a math teacher, Uetake, and she gave me a test that had a 100- problems on it and I asked her "how much is passing?" she said "60". So I did 60 problems and the extra credit and turned it in. The next day she gave the test back and on the front in big red words "see me after class!" Meh. What's new? I've washed so many dishes and clapped so many erasers - nothing new. After class, I sat down with her and she asked if I liked her class. I said "yes" and she said “why don't you try harder? I know this class is easy for you”. I told her, "I have no excuse, I'm just lazy." All she said was, "That's a shame. You'll waste all that talent and end up in jail, but if you shape up, you'll get into Yale and probably end up a millionaire." To this day, I don't think she knows how accurate she was about all of it cause I sure did try hard at the "Jail and Yale" thing.
