Well at 73 approaching 74, I seem to be reminiscing more about my high school and college days. I truly miss Horseheads, Ithaca and the Finger Lakes region! I just seem to be attracted back to my hometown each year in late summer. I don't always make it back, but I am homesick just writing this note. So in 2022, I will be planning on another trip.

While I worked and lived all over the country, raised a family, I tended to forget my roots. But now that I am retired, it all comes back to me like yesterday. (I lost the mother of my daughters in 2020 to cancer and it really was a wakeup call that life is fleeting.) Now I appreciate just how nice it was to grow up in such a safe rural community with a lot of great classmates! However, most of my relatives have died and coming home leaves me haunted with old family houses that are now filled with strangers!

Anyways, the memories are great and you are all a part of them in one way or another. I look forward to the next reunion. In the meantime, enjoy life and be content with what you have.
School Story:

I played some sports in high school, the only team that I made was baseball! I remember Mr. Kirkendall as the baseball coach, and that was the first time that I experienced favoritism and bias. It still affects me when I think about it, but it made me a better person. In the end, it just didn't matter as life is so much more than high school sports.

Actually, I now excel at golf with a single digit handicap. So much more fun with companions. Who knew?

I have memories of Alan that are both positive and inspirational.  I think that Alan's life was one that was well lived.  Obviously a smart person who pursued an engineering degree that was obtained from Princeton.  It is hard to believe that a lot of us will pass away over the next 10 years or so, but that is the circle of life.  It makes you realize that one must live life to it's fullest and love your family and friends!  Set a good example as that is what one leaves behind in this world.

This is sad news in deed.  I remember James and I used to make fun of "Fuzzy" Dreer in Physics class!  We had some good laughs over his obsession over "clicking" of pens while he was talking.  It sounds like he had a good life and was a patriot to our country!  Rest in peace Jim"Bo".

I can't remember Kathleen that well, but I looked into the yearvbook and it did bring back some memories.  Sorry to learn of her passing.  68 seems like too young to go!

I remember Kenny as we were in homeroom together.  He was always upbeat and funny.

I remember James in relation to Mary DeHass.  They were close friends.  The last time I remember seeing him he was working at the grocery store in Horseheads.  Nice man.

Very sorry to learn of the death of Neal.  I have such fond memories of him as a really great person.  He was taken way too early!  This makes you appreciate life and to live it fully every day!
