Leonard Lee Shelton, Deceased August 2, 1992

Leonard Lee Shelton, 51, son of Ray Shelton and Doris Shelton Mitchell, was born April 22, 1941, at Ellis Prairie. He died Aug. 2, 1992, at Texas County Memorial Hospital at Houston. He was a victim of cancer. He married Carolyn Sue Hayes July 28,1962. They had two sons. The Shelton's lived in the Ellis Prairie community, where he was a dairy farmer. He worked for several years for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Dept. out of the Success shed. Mr. Shelton was a member of the Ellis Prairie Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Shelton. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn of the home; his sons, Jeffery of the home and Darin of Raymondville; his mother and stepfather, Doris and Herman Mitchell of Ellis Prairie; two brothers, Lester and Tony Shelton of Ellis Prairie; and one granddaughter. Services were Aug. 5 at the Ellis Prairie Baptist Church with the Rev. Van Kirkwood officiating. Burial was in the Ellis Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
