Jerry Wayne Stricklin, Deceased March 12, 1999

Jerry Wayne Stricklin, 57, son of Ernest "Porky" and Mabel Stark Stricklin, was born Nov. 12, 1941, at Houston. He died March 12, 1999, at his home at Houston following a six-year bout with cancer. He graduated from Houston High School and spent his lifetime, in this area. He married Donna Marie Jones June 33, 1963. They had three children. Mr. Stricklin operated a trucking company, worked as a mechanic and for the last 20 years was a carpenter as long as his health permitted. He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Robert. Surviving are his wife, Donna, and son, Cory, of the home; one daughter, Teresa Neal of Huggins; his father of Houston; three brothers, Roy Stricklin of Parker, Colo., Donald of Atlanta, Ga., and Lloyd of Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Jeaneta Freeman of Strafford; and four grandchildren. Services were March 15 at the First Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Ben Gard officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
