Catherine Sue (Mayberry) Owens, Deceased January 3, 2011

Catherine Sue (Mayberry) Owens, 69, daughter of Everett and Sarah (Hinkle) Mayberry, was born May 11, 1941, in Houston, Mo.

At age 15, she married Harold Owens in Mississippi. They had two children together: Robin and Chris. Catherine was a loving wife that cherished spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored her little sister and best friend. They were inseparable.
She attended Houston High School and obtained her beauty license in 1976. Catherine enjoyed her job as a hair stylist at Mane Cut in Florissant, Mo., where she worked for almost 30 years. Work for her was more like spending time with great friends. Her clients weren't just clients. They were dear friends. She took great pride in her work and rarely took off work.

Catherine passed on to her heavenly dwelling place, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Sarah Mayberry; and a brother, Billy Mayberry.
She is survived by her husband, Harold of Hazelwood; one daughter, Robin Gist and husband, Gary, of Granite City, Ill.; one son, Christopher Owens and wife, Nancy, of Florissant, Mo.; one sister, Shirley Jo Hay of St. Charles, Mo.; three grandchildren, James Nicholas Dillick of St. Louis, Mo., Sarah Dillick and boyfriend, Shaun Williams, of St. Louis, Mo., and Sean Owens of Florissant, Mo. Catherine was also blessed with two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will truly be missed by all, but we know that she is enjoying the beauty of Heaven and rejoicing in the presence of God and others who have crossed through the gates before her.

Memorial services will be at a later date.
