Lonnie grew up in the Bucyrus area and graduated from Houston High School in 1960. He married his best friend, Roxie Pearcy, on May 11, 1963, and to this union three children were born.

He is survived by his wife, Roxie, of the home in Houston, Mo.; three children, Kevin McGowen and wife, Brenda, of Houston, Mo., Kelly Head and husband, Heath, of Houston, Mo., and Karla Hinkle and husband, Matt, of Marshfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jenna, Megan and Mason; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Levi. He is also survived by a sister, Sharon Williams and husband, Leon, of Bucyrus, Mo.

Lonnie was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and was baptized Aug. 11, 1974.

He and Roxie owned and operated the Trophy Shop for 35 years. They owned L & R Mobile homes from 1972 to present. They also owned and operated L & R Skating rink for 10 years in the 1980s. Lonnie held a real estate license and he was a pilot, flying with Jim Brallier all over the United States.

Lonnie was an avid fisherman. He thoroughly enjoyed camping and fishing with his buddies at the surrounding lakes, catching his limit, soaking up the sun and just enjoying his time there. He loved to chauffeur Miss Roxie on various adventures, having a good time just being together.

His greatest enjoyment was being around his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Burial was in Hickory Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bud Biram, Heath Head, Matt Hinkle, Doug Collins, David Fisher and Donald McCallister.

The family requested memorials be made to the Texas County Food Pantry. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
