We are in the process of trying to plan a "Celebration of Life" for Leslea. We are looking at Saturday June 28th in League City at our church, the League City United Methodist Church. We would meet in the Family Life Center and share stories about Leslea. I will be collecting pictures of Leslea Lawson for a slideshow. I will let you know when I start on the power point. I will keep you informed.
Dear friends and family of Leslea "Aunt Les" Lawson, So far there are no arrangements being made to honor her life on Earth. We are in a holding pattern because her brother is the next of kin and nobody can find him. Nothing can be done with her physical remains until he is found and he can make all the decisions. My mom tried, but was turned down due to the fact she is not the next of kin. To the Home Depot friends who offered help with the house: We thank you for your offer, but we would prefer no one goes near the house for health reasons. The house is not safe for anyone at this moment, and like I said earlier, Aunt Les's brother can't be found to make decision regarding the house. It is no secret how Les died and how long she was there. That kind of "situation" and the state of her dog makes the air very dangerous . Mom says she would like to eventually do something to remember Les for all her friends, but we are just waiting. I will continue to check back here for updates. Hopefully Les's FB account won't be closed for a while. Thank you all and God bless.~Chris
Leslea died sometime on or after February 9, 2014. She died of a heart attack. Her puppy died of starvation, since no one knew she had died. Until two of us another friend of hers and myself, asked her on FB why we have not heard from her. No one bothered to check up on her for 4 months. That put a red flag with her family to check on her and the rest is in the message from her cousin. Everyone is invited to her memorial when announced by her cousin. Her brother cannot be found to take care of her body or her estate.
My heart goes out to her family. Leslea was so sweet to me in high school but we lost track of each other after graduation. She will always be precious--only He chose to take her before we saw one another again.
This should be a "wake up call" for everyone. If you do not hear from someone, call the police and ask for a "welfare check" and as soon as someone is available, an officer will be sent over. There is no charge and even though they are cops, they are concerned with our safety.
Leslea, we miss you but we;ll all meet up again in time.....
