Vicki Johnson (Patzold)

Hey LJ, I was taking Lauryn to Powder Puff practice. We were eating dinner and Lala popped off......this is a nice hearty dinner before football practice. I just laughed looked at my husband and said you know just want every daddy expects to hear his little girl say right?..LOL. As if that wasn't bad enough then she makes a comment about how wrestling practice was lame. Then she started laughing when she realized just how much she sounded like a guy with those two comments. Don't freak out though, she's only a manager for the wrestling team...LOL. I've often said Lauryn was the boy I never had, I just never realize just how much...LOL.

She might grow out of it, if not, just take it in stride. She sounds like a lovely kid.

LJ-either way it's no biggie to me. She's a girly girl tomboy, I'm telling ya. Like I said last night......cross her and she'll beat your butt, but she'll look cute doing it. In case you missed it, I posted her vball pic from this past season here on the forum

Well V get busy then....I want a picture!!!!!

Lauryn is such a goof:) she cracks me up!!!!

Hey Deana...I'm gonna call you ok when we start hanging sheet rock...sounds like you are just what I need to get the job done:) I plan to do the sheetrock work myself:)

I just can not force myself to pay someone to do something that I am totally capable of doing myself! But the roof...oh ya someones getting paid!!!!!
Country music awards tonight:) Yes!!!!!

Jonel Bishop (Lockler)

Becky you sound just like us. We are hanging the sheetrock, installing a shower and laying the tile ourselves, someone else gets to do the framing and the roof. I hope to be starting all this very soon. We are still doing the demo work right now. We have found some pretty interesting things in the walls. Behind the front door, where the doorknob made a hole, we found all kinds of little McDonald's type toys that Kevin, his niece Jennifer and Ryan had put there as a kids. The hole had been patched and knocked out several times over the years. We found trashbags in one wall. Kevin's older brothers apparent hiding place. (Don't even want to know what was in those bags at one time.)
Brenda thanks for the invite, but we have plans for Friday. And yes I could definately use a break. Tuesday was really bad. I was on the verge tears for no reason other than I just wanted to go home. I have taken a step back, a deep breath and am feeling much better. I just can't stand to be this out of sorts. You never know what a creature of habit you are until your routine is completely disrupted.

It's OK Joni, I go thru the same thing every time we move. The move to AK was such a strain. We left 29 Palms, and went home to Texas for the month of Dec. We arrived in Anchorage on the 3rd of January. We lived in a hotel for 2 months. It was the 1st of March before we finally got into housing. It was the end of January that I had my break down. I wanted MY furniture (which was all in crates with TMO). I wanted MY dishes and cookware ( I spent two month eating either fast food, or at restaurants, or cooking in an electric skillet, because I was tired of eating out all the time). I pretty much just wanted all of MY STUFF IN ONE PLACE! It can be a very stressful time. Just look at it like this. You could have to live in the house that all the construction is going on in. I've seen my mom lose it having to do that. You feel like the place you are living in is never clean, and is never going to be finished. Just keep in mine there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that it is and will be done.

Jonel Bishop (Lockler)

Yeah, I am very happy that I don't have to live in the house right now. We did that last year when we remodeled the kitchen and bedroom. This is a much larger scale and I am really glad I don't have to stay there. I do see the very very VERRRRY faint light at the end of the tunnel. I know soon enough things will be back to normal. I think what bothers me most is the length of time its taking to get started. I know once work starts and the ball gets rolling I will feel so much better.

Beau is looking for Robert Taylor...They were good friends.
Anyone have a lead on him?
I did my P.I. search I do, but I came up with old numbers and addresses.

11/13/08 12:01 PM #1641

Vicki Johnson (Patzold)

Deana-Check with Schaun Drab....I think he still talks to Robert Taylor. I know he has several photos of him from recently with him and Robert Mendiola. Either way, check with Schaun, he might be able to point you in the right direction.

Oh I also talked to Freddie this morning. He said he's just been really busy with work since the hurricane. When he called me back this morning I answered the phone, "you are still alive"...LOL.

What's up all? I am at my desk again, surfing the net. I had an idea of a way to get mass response to the missing folks. I am waiting for a call back from the Houston Chronicle to go over the rates for running an announcement of the Reunion and a list of the missing classmates. The piece would also display the website so everyone can come on board and update their profiles. What do you all think?

11/13/08 02:14 PM #1644

Vicki Johnson (Patzold)

Sounds like a plan! Talk about thinking BIG. Then again there are several people I've actually spoke to, who are suppose to have made pages and they are taking their dear sweet time...LOL. Hell I talk to Andrew Feterkowski like almost 2 months ago and he just made his page a few weeks ago.

11/13/08 02:35 PM #1645

Louis Jackson

Well, I don't consider it thinking big, just thinking what is the easiest way or best way to get the word out to the most amount of people. I will let all of you know how it goes.

Hey Louis... Way to go!!!

Kudos to Popcorn!!!

I feel ya too Joni....we have not really even started on the house. I am STILL waiting to here from the insurance company. Which they finally received the info from the adjuster and put a rush on it since I have been calling everday telling them how ridiculous it is to have to wait 2 months to fix my water damaged home. I hate to walk in my bathroom cause it smells so musty. I am just agravated that we have gone thru this terrible hurricane event and now the insurance company just sits on their butts like "oh well we are working on it". I too just want my house back. And I could go stay in a hotel but then it disrupts my kids lives and the things they need to function normally. AHHHHHHH!!!!! Anyways I have one wall down in the master bedroom and have bleached the frame. It was only a little moldy but I still soaked the 2x4's just to make sure they were mold free:) I am hoping to get some more wet sheetrock down over the weekend and get those walls prepped to. The hard part is the outside walls cause I don't wanna pull the sheetrock off and the only thing seperating me from the great outdoors be a piece of insulation and hardy plank....I fear the wild animals and snakes in these here woods:)
Well goodluck Joni, I hope it all goes good for you guys.
You will have to have a house party so we can all come see the finished product:)
Much love to you guys:)

Deana Sampson (Jenkins)

Thanks Vicki!

Louis...LOL...I was trying to get that information too when you left it on my voicemail!
I think it is an amazing idea, and I think you are just as wonderful for taking that on for us!
Sending love>>>>>>

Sheryl Morris (Gilmore)

Hey Louis, I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder pain, but I just thought of something.Maybe it's from being hunched over the keyboard from our little chats that we had on here!LOL! I'm just kidding!
This is also to let everyone else know that's been asking about my husband!
I've had to take my husband to physical therapy this week for his back. He's been down for three weeks now, but is improving a little each day this week. For the first five days, he couldn't get out of bed at all.He couldn't even sit up to eat.He says I'm his angel and that he is a very lucky man! I couldn't even get him to the Doctor until the second week, and also was able to take him to the Chiropractor. Then got a MRI and took it to the Ortho. Doctor at Tomball Sports Med. last week.He had already been told he had Siatica, but then found out that he had a herniated disc. The doctor says, you can try this ,this this, & this.So we're trying Physical Therapy this week.He is up walking now and doing a little more each day.His mom has the same condition, but has more in her back and is living with it, without surgery. The key she says is physical theraphy.Anyway,it has been somewhat of a nightmare. My days are running together between work,doctors,kids,....
So Louis, you can see why I was concerned about you having to go to physical therapy!
Oh and Brenda, Have a fun night, I guess I'll just have to catch-up with you and everyone in Dec. Be sure to let us know how it went!

Vicki Johnson (Patzold)

Ok this is back on our small town discussion we had a few weeks back. I was looking at the front page of the local newspaper today, and I thought to myself, you know you live in small town when the Homecoming Queen is Front Page News.........LOL. Oh yeah, did I mention that our local newspaper only comes out once a week, and covers about a 20 mile radius, and 3 towns?

11/13/08 11:35 PM #1652

Brenda Kasprzak (Schelski)

Hey Sheryl... I feel for ya. You are now super woman #3.
You know #1 is Deana and #2 is Becky. You be sure and take care of yourself to.
Oh I can't have my night out. My mother-in-law can't babysit this weekend. I know it was short notice and a lot of people had plans. Next time the band is at Woody's I will make earlier plans that way I can have a big group of women go. The band sends me an e-mail when they have a gig. I will let everyone know as soon as I confirm a babysitter next time.

Jonel Bishop (Lockler)

Hey Becky, I am right there with you. I would be afraid of the critters as well. And Oh yes we are having a huge party when this is all done. An I SURVIVED HURRICANE IKE!! party. I'm gonna buy stuff to make hurricanes to drink. At the rate things are moving it may be hurricane season again before we get to have the party. At least if its warm by the time we are done we can have the party in the back yard, there's no tree now to drop acorns in our drinks LOL.

Brenda Kasprzak (Schelski)

Way to look at the bright side Jonel. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and your family. It will be like moving in a brand new house after you are done.

11/14/08 10:21 AM #1655

Jonel Bishop (Lockler)

Basically yes. The interior will be all new, furniture, paint, trim, countertops and floors. I am very excited just frustrated at the wasted time waiting for a stupid check to clear.

ugggggggg.......I am already tired of looking at the pile of GREEN CRAP piled up in my garage(LJ will know exactly what I'm talking about). Why do men start projects 6 months out then leave it to sit there for 6 months until the last minute. Who know what will happen between now and then? Seriously it was nice and neatly packed away. He doesn't have a need for any of this crap right now! That man has never packed 6 months out for a deployment, why this time? He should have just left it were it was until about March. Then I could have dealt with it piled up for a few days. No, he can't do that, he has all these piles all over the garage (I really hate a messy garage) and then he also has all his hunting stuff everywhere, cause God forbid we go a day without hunting. I'm telling you I think one of these days I'm really going to lose it and I swear I'm just going to knock him out. You will see my face plastered all over the front of every paper, "Marine Wife Goes Balistic Marine Dead For Leaving Gear Everywhere" Granted if they give me a true jury of my peers a court room full of Military Wives I swear I will get off, they will side with me saying, "I completely understand where she is coming from"!

Sorry had to vent for a few moments....LOL.
