Steve Sherman
1950 - 2015
Stephen John Sherman, 65, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in New Braunfels. Stephen was born on May 31, 1950, in Houston, Texas to Evelyn Maureen Hicks Sherman and Cleveland Willis Sherman.
He was the manager at Ace Hardware in Canyon Lake/Sattler for many years and was considered a modern day “Renaissance Man”, because he was a 2nd generation artist; a pilot, musician, and also wrote a book. Stephen loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lyndy Sherman of New Braunfels; his brother Doug Sherman and wife Patsy of The Woodlands, TX along with numerous family members and his cat Sophie.
Celebration of his life will take place at Canyon Lake, Texas and also one in The Woodlands, Texas.

I knew Steve since 6th grade, lived on the next street, we were in Boy Scouts together, and My Uncle, Snookie, whom lived next door to the scout master, Mr. Reddings, took all of us to the Army armory on OST, to teach and acuieve our marksman badge. WE had a great time, Steve was a very compassiote guy, do anything for you, Lyndy, so sorry for your loss.Take Care

Enjoyed after party at Steve's home for senior prom. If it had not been for him, I would have had to be home by midnight or earlier. He was always very kind to me and all who know him. I will miss his smile.

Steve, Ozzie, & Erle were three of the best friends that I was privileged to share some of the best memories of my SWHS days! Steve did some "counseling" when Ozzie & I would disagree! Such a "Gentle Giant"! The memories will live on in our hearts!

One day at school Steve showed up with the stem portion of a pipe which he proudly called his "pip" (as in Gladys Knight and ...). We laughed about it for days.
Last night whlle watching "Murder on the Orient Express" Sean Connery's character refered to his pipe as a pip. The whole story of Steve and his pip came back.
It's hard to believe that sense of humor is gone now. He will be missed by all who knew him.
