Classmates, I guess this is us: health concerns as we grow older. It is so sad for all of us. I remember my Mom saying that everyone she loved was dying. What can we do but pray a lot for each other and to realize there is always someone whose battle is harder than ours! My heart is full for all who are suffering illness or sorrow. We need to have strength from each other. 😘

Well said, Mary Weidner (Williams).  As we continue to age, we should expect more health issues or worse.  I am grateful we have such a close and caring class to pray and look after us.

Thank you, Diane, for giving us an update on Beau.  I am so sorry for all that both of you have been through.  I hope the chemo pills help Beau and he will soon be back on the Forum telling stories like only he can.  Please keep us posted.

Prayers for all of the classmates that are ill or going through rough times.

I received this on my most recent birthday.  Seems most of us are in the second most productive time of our lives.  I think I agree.

From Diane Wann this morning:

Beau has been in MD Anderson hospital since Tuesday afternoon.  They don't know how long he'll be there yet.  He's had lots of chemo effects.  They are in the observation unit - probably moving to Neuro Unit later today.

Let's pray for Beau's medical staff to find the cause of his issues and find healing for him.  Pray for Diane - keeping vigil in a hospital room is hard.

Prayers for Beau and Diane, the medical staff and of course, all of us here on the Forum.  We are all aware of the fragility of our health as we are entering the fourth quarter of our life spans.

Mary - agreed.

Glenn -uplifting, however, I still lose my train of thought and forget names I could bring up quickly!  and the cure for that   ?

Beau and Diane you're always in my thoughts as you journey through this medical maze. I'm praying for some relief for Beau and some good days for you both. Beau always says Diane is an Angel and a Saint. Without a doubt, she has proved him to be right. Looking forward to Beau getting back to his storytelling and history lessons. You're missed by everyone.

Yes, we are all aging.  We need each other's prayers more than ever.  The Apostle Paul writes:  "Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing."  1 Thess.  5:16-17.  There is POWER IN PRAYER.  Dont stop!  Never!

May you feel God's love wrap around both of you during this difficult time.

From Diane Wann:

Beau’s MDAnderson doctors say his speech issues and inability to use his legs are caused by the inoperable brain tumor they’ve treated with radiation and continued chemo.  They see no shrinkage in that tumor, so Beau has decided to end his chemo treatments.

They went home yesterday afternoon and hospice has prepared their home for his care.

Beau insists he wants everyone to feel free to come visit, call or text him.  Please call Diane first to arrange visits.  713-560-0676

Beau’s son, Kevin, has come to stay with them and he’s brought food.  Neighbors are bringing food, so Diane will let us know when they may need meals.  Beau still has his appetite.

Let’s continue prayers for Beau’s comfort and peace and for Diane and all of Beau’s                            family to feel God's love through this time.

Although the news about Bose condition is not the best, I'm so glad that he made the decision he did and also glad that hospice has been called in it's a gentle way to leave this life. I hope as the days progress you will be surrounded by all the love that you two deserve. Patty

dear Beau, this is not the news I wanted to hear, you didn't deserve this outcome as you couragrously fought this disease, just know God is still with you and Diane, and knows how tired you must be.  We are the losers in this fight, feeling it.

I love you Beau.  I pray wisdom for your caretakers.  I want to come say hi, but don't want to stay too long.
i will call Diane to set up appointment with Mr Wann.  All the famous people have gate keepers.  We only have a cat who guards the door.

Wayne Lake

Latest on Keith Kupec:  I called Caraday Nursing facility today and was told Keith is in their Covid unit. They did not report his condition/status, evidently he no longer has is cell phone and of course face to face visitation is out of the question. When it rains, it pours. I am ready to see this whole Covid thing in the rear view mirror.

Frank Lynn and I visted the Wann family last Sunday. Diane is everything Beau says she is. Beau's sons are  providing full time tag team help/attendance. All in all, they all seem to be holding up well and making best of the situation.

I called Tonda Theisen yesterday and she is reovering/doing better, mood is good/upbeat, able to drive and take care of herself and soring out residual side effects of various meds after her heart surgery.

Thanks for all the updates Wayne. I appreciate your kindness in sharing. Praying for the Wann family and all who need care and comfort. Will add a special request for the fish to bite at your fishing spot. Hugs to all, Marcie

I am trying to get to Beau and Diane's home as soon as possible.  Ron has a trip scheduled for next Monday to visit doctors in Houston.  I will call to see if Diane and beau would be available that afternoon.  I pulled a muscle in my back so I need to get physical therapy going quickly for that three hour drive to Houston.
my family escaped Covid until this past Saturday.  My grandson and his wife tested positive Saturday.  They have a six month old who also has it.  They feel miserable and are first time parents.  They are worried about baby.  My son in law practices medicine in both the emergency room and private practice so he is exposed constantly.  He is careful but still attends a men's Bible study.  He hasn't gotten it.  He went to grandson's house to deliver food and medicine but left it on the porch.  I'm with you Wayne.  I want this thing gone.
I am praying for our superhero Beau and Diane.  Wonderful to have the support of his sons.

Beau Wann, Jr.

This is Diane for Beau,

Thank you everyone for the cards, calls and visits. Beau is a little weaker and but still has some of his sense of humor. His attitude is good. He tells visitors " I didn't give up, but my body did" The chemo and the tumor have drained his strength.  He has difficulty speaking with any volume or responding quickly (due to effects of the chemo and the brain and body are not being in sinc), but his mind is still sharp!

Billy and Kevin are blessing.  They are really good with Beau.  Kevin does a lot of the cooking-great cook!.

He still wants visitors.  If you call and I don't answer,  leave a message or text. I can't always answer immediately.  But I will call you back.

Beau asks about eveyone and prays for those who are ill or grieving.

So as he would say " Ride boldly, Ride!  Enjoy the day! Peace and Love!

Beau and Diane

Diane,  Thank you for taking the time to post about Beau.  The whole class is concerned about Beau and your news is appreciated.  How are you holding up?  I am glad that Beau's sons are there to help and support you and Beau.  Please let him know that y'all are in my prayers for peace and comfort.
