Good morning, Mary! Beau's address is 4040 Marshall Lane, Chappell Hill, Texas 77426.

Thank you for the update on Beau, Diane. I am so thankful you have help! Give Beau a big hug for me. You both continue to be in my prayers as well as many of our classmates. Love you both!

Went to hear Larry Joe Taylor and Richard Leigh at 3rd Coast Theater in Port Aransas (A) last night, acoustical, funny and entertaining – my kind of stuff. Richard Leigh is a notable song writer with several #1 hits and LJT is sort of the king of local C&W (Coastal and Western) music such as 3rd Coast {Port A to Port B}, Island Time and My Kind’a Day on Padre.

I enjoy college basketball and one of my hero’s is retiring this year after 41 years as Duke Men’s Basketball Coach K (Krzyzewski). Ticket prices for his final home game against dreaded rival North Carolina are going for $80K! Duke fans are gonn’a miss seeing him on the sidelines. Not only a great coach but even a better leader and human being.

Listen’n to some old Jimmy Buffet albums recently and came across lyrics I could connect with

“the ocean has always been my Mother,

Salt water is the perfect cure,

Hey, that’s my way.”

JB has been a long time fav of mine, not only great lyrics but sort of life style role model as he had a Cheoy Lee sailboat and so did I, he had Whaler fishing boat and I had one (both of my boats were much smaller than his) but that’s about where it stops since I have trouble controling my iPod much less make music.

Texas Bucket List featured Gatlin’s BBQ on Ella Blvd near Waltrip, it looks great, anybody give it a taste test?

Looking forward to a trip to Utah in March to see the Nat’l Parks around Moab.

I hope Putin gets Covid, wtl

Or a bullet to his head...lol!  Hope the KG isn't tracking comments against them.

I'd like to visit one of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville resorts, with my sis, who ia a total Parrothead...lol.

In the meantime, Beau and Diane, I'm working the Navasota strip in the Old Bluebonnetville vintage shop this Sunday.  If I wake up to travel, may see if the Wanns could use a visit!

Wayne, our business partner was a sailor.  He built an inter coastal waterway boat himself from the hull up.  It took him ten years but it is beautiful.  He had a nice sailboat that he and his wife and daughter lived on for a year.  They cruised the Caribbean and docked every two weeks for him to fly home to work for a few days.  They ran into Jimmy Buffet once and he said Buffet didn't take care of his boat.  Bebo was a nut about keeping boats in perfect condition.  He invited us to go sailing one day out of Galveston.  He started telling me to grab something and do something.  I looked at him and said I was prepared with a novel and a chair.  No work because it was my day off and I didn't understand what he was talking about anyway.  He laughed, but left me alone because he didn't want to do his own medical paperwork.

Was able to visit the wonderful Wann family today.  Did my heart good.  I asked God to give me strength, and he gave me Diane, his son and granddaughter, and Beau's strong gaze, soft words, with Diane at his side. Beau was sitting in the recliner, as Izzey? decided to take his bed....lol.  What an enjoyable and heartwarming atmosphere with the cat near Beau, outside stretched out, dogs nearby. and Beau with everything for comfort, entertainment near by and loving family. and so happy to  being able to visit the Master who has given us so much laughter and unity, and continues to be a blessing to our great Waltripians, which I am still in awe of such an intelligent literary classmate.

As last week. His vitals are still good and he is not in any pain.

Please keep beau and Diane in your prayers .

Ruth Schmidt never suspected she had issues with her heart. It wasn't until she passed out after a routine cardiac stress test that she knew something was seriously wrong.
After being transported to the hospital for emergency surgery, doctors discovered she suffered from extensive blockage and a bad aortic valve. Thanks to the expert care of Dr. Juan A. Abreu, cardiothoracic surgeon with UT Physicians and UTHealth Houston, Ruth was back home and feeling great in just three weeks.
To celebrate #AmericanHeartMonth and her one-year surgery anniversary, Ruth decided to deliver sweets to the man who saved her life.

Diane Wann just called.  Beau passed on very peacefully this morning around 4:15.  He had no pain.

His boys and their families have been with them.  Diane wants everyone to know how absolutely amazed Beau was by every one of you who have been praying for him, those who have contacted him and those who came to visit.  The family thanks all of you for the care you have shown them during Beau's journey.

Services are being planned later in Houston.  Beau requested a "Party on the Hill" at their home to celebrate his Heavenly homecoming.  Diane will keep us informed of the family's plans.

Diane's sister, Pam, is flying in from Russia to help their Dad get through this time of loss.

Frank Lynn is compiling all of Beau's wonderful blogs from The Forum so we can revisit Beau's many hours of humorous musings that have kept us entertained through the years.

Prayers are going up for all of Beau's family to find peace and comfort and healing.

Patricia Williamson (Williams)

It is so like Beau to be thinking of us even before he left us with the idea of a celebration for his homecoming. His sense of humor and boundless faith is a great example for the rest of us. I pray for Diane and the rest of his family and feel grateful that he is now at peace and at rest.

Thank you Frank Lynn for compiling Beau's Blog.  I am glad he left peacefully.  This is more emotional than I expected to be since we knew he was leaving.  I will see many of you in Houston.

Diane called this morning to tell us that Beau passed away peacefully. As all of us, we were pleased that he passed away quietly and easily at home.. And I'll bet that his kitty-love, Little Miss, was snuggled up on his chest.

Diane had mentioned his and her desire to have a celebration of life up there, when I visited them several weeks ago.

I told her that several of us guys would come up a day or two before the celebration and help get it set up, and anything else she needs done. Then come back a day or two after the gathering  to help clean up and put everything back in place.

Kay, I would say Beau was our Leon Hale.  He always brought us back to the touchstone.  It is a gift to be able to tell stories that have morals in them while entertaining the audience.  Whether he was writing about his pets or his battle for life he got his point across with humor and dignity.

Jimmie, do you know if Oaks Presbyterian needs folks to bring food or whatever for the reception.  I would be happy to do that.  Thanks, Ronna

Ronna, as active as Diane and Beau were in that church through the years, I imagine members are providing food.  If not, since one of Beau's sons has a restaurant, possibly he's catering.  I will ask Diane and post her answer.
