Y'all would know me better as Chris, since I went by that name until I started college.
I went straight into mechanical engineering at U of H, and promptly -- five and a half years later -- graduated (to the amazement of all) with a degree in manufacturing technology. Three years active duty (and 17 more in reserve & national guard) finally retiring as a major.
Met an adorable Michigan farm girl at Fort Riley in 1975 (she was a nurse) and we've been together ever since. We have one son, Geoffrey, who's a Baylor undergrad right now, in music education. He's a talented flautist -- which must have come from his mom, since it didn't come from me -- and almost frighteningly outgoing.
After the Army, we lived in Heidelberg for three years while I worked for the Army as a civilian. After that, it was grad school in Waco. Ah, Jerusalem on the Brazos! Now I'm working for a small land planning company in Austin, and have since 1985 when I finished my Master's in Environmental Science at Baylor.
Every day, I see myself in the mirror, with gray hair that's getting pretty thin on top, and I wonder what happened. Gee -- 1969 was a long time ago.
