After graduating from Trinity University in San Antonio in 1983, I went to the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1988. Later, in addition to working several years as a school teacher, I spent eight year working as a missionary evangelist in central Spain, where I met my wife, Paola Lorefice, from Sicily, Italy. We have one daughter, Melody, who is now seven years old and enrolled in a Christian school in Texarkana, Arkansas, where I have been working as an elder/pastor since May of 2003 at the Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church. My only brother, Max Rizley, died nearly eight years ago after a lifelong struggle with kidney disease, and my father died three years ago of chronic leukemia. That leaves me as the only son of my widowed mother, Betty Rizley, who continues to reside in Houston (although we are trying to persuade her to move to Texarkana). God has blessed our family very much since we moved to Texarkana, for which we are very greatful. The website of the church where I serve is www.texarkanarbc.org, if anyone is interested in looking at it.
I continue to enjoy many of the same hobbies that I enjoyed in high school, such as listening to classical music, reading, writing poetry, and watching movies. I also enjoy outdoor activities like riding my bike, walking, and playing frisbee or basketball with my daughter Melody.
