Honestly my time at Memorial was just about the worst time of my life! I had just moved to America from South Africa and it was awful. I had few friends and I was 13 in 9th grade because they moved me up a year due to South Africa's educational system being so good. I'm sure very few people remember me as I did not have many friends and could not wait to get out of high school. I am now very happily married with kids, with a very successful career building Luxury houses in Dallas. (follow my insta...@berk_walters_homes).
I made sure my kids never went through the same thing that I did. We live in Highland Park, a similar area to Memorial. My daughter is a cheerleader, loves high school and is very popular with many friends. My son is in 7th and also very happy.
I also started another company in 2001, importing my ceramic designs from China and selling them to over 1000 gift stores/hospitals/churches around the USA. Before that I worked in high tech marketing for Texas Instruments, Nokia and Sprint, among others.
I have lived in Austin (UT), Tel Aviv, Israel, New York, St. Louis and now, Dallas. I was sad to see how many people have died from our class (even though I did not recognize many of the names). I feel blessed to have a wonderful husband, wonderful kids and a thriving career when I can use my creativity to the fullest.
