Ron Nixon

Since High School, I was drafted into the army, I joined special forces (Green Beret) and was sent to Vietnam. I was lucky, 7 returned out of 44) Returning to the usa, finished the army in 1973, I was a beach bum in Ventura for less than a year before joining Civil Service DOD at Pt Mugu. During that time I recieved my AS degree from Ventura College. 1976 I transfered to Heidelberg, Germany, had a ball wow and recieved my B.S. Degree. 1980 moved to Stockholm, Sweden worked in a computer consulting company as a project mgr, in 1987 I moved to Winchester, England just south of London working as an independent consultant in my small acct biz. I/we enjoyed my time based in Germany, Sweden and England, traveling in 14 countries with my job... my family grew from 1 child to 6 children..it was great to see how other people live... finally in 1991 we returned to USA --home ie.Camarillo and recieved my Masters degree. After a few years in 1997 we moved to San Francisco another super place, lots to do, no smog... and finally in 2001 we moved to Connecticut as I've always wanted to live in New England ... its been the right move for me... good decsion for the family...beautiful, no smog and not so many people...but close enough to NewYork City if you like lots of people. I miss many of my friends from Hueneme, time has gone by quickly..go class of 1968 !!

I remember at lunch time, sitting on a wall with my friend Steven, eating lunch and talkng. While Steve spoke to me, some guy came up to us and he knocked me so hard in the mouth that I went flying backward off the wall into the garden...I asked him why he hit me ... he said I was staring at his girlfriend ... I couldn't figure it out for a few moments...then it dawned on me... I was looking at my friend steve while we spoke... in the background was this guy's girlfriend... I got hit for nothing .. he cooled down if he didn't I was gonna run... heh heh
