Memorial services for Charles Joseph (Joe) Webb, will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Hugo, OK. The Sigma Chi Fraternity Brothers will present the honored White Rose Ceremony and several special friends will share their memories of Joe; a private family burial will be held at a later date. Joe passed away at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, OK on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 after an extended illness, at the age of 75.

Joe was born on February 3, 1943 in Paris, TX. He graduated from Hugo High School in 1961. He was Letterman in Football and Track, in the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, and the Sports Reporter for “The Broadcaster”. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he graduated in 1966 with a BA in Political Science. He is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He was employed by the CDC for 32 years before retiring to Hugo in the fall of 1998. He was elected to the City Council for 2001 – 2005. He was on the Select Committee on Water, Chairman of the Hugo Industrial Authority, served on the Board of Adjustment, and on the Rodeo Committee, and the Tourism Board of Choctaw Country. He was the Emergency Management Director for the City of Hugo until 2016.

Joe loved sailing, fishing, going to deer or turkey camp with friends, pheasant hunting in Kansas, woodworking, gardening, cooking, The Eagles and Willie Nelson. One of Joe’s most favorite places in Hugo was the Library. He was an avid reader. In lieu of flowers, he requested memorial donations to Choctaw County Library, Inc. (CCLI). 703 E. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Margaret Webb and Uncle Weldon Webb of Hugo.

Joe is survived by his wife, Brenda and stepson, Jeffery Burrell of Hugo. Daughter, Cecily Panetta and husband, John and grandson Carr Panetta, from Cedar Park, TX. Son Paul Webb and wife Liz and grandsons Charlie Webb and Sam Webb from Houston, TX. Sons, Garrett Webb, Dallas, TX and Taylor Webb, Medford, OR.
