Evelyn Lemons

Obituary from Miller and Miller Funeral Home Website, March 15, 2021

Evelyn Ruth Lemons was born on March 13, 1943 to Oliver and Louise (Collie) Lemons in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Hugo and raised her children in the area. She was an associate for Wal-Mart and retired after many years of dedicated service. Evelyn had a passion for sewing and was a talented seamstress. Her specialty was wedding dresses, and she made sure every bride that came to her for help left with a beautiful dress for their special day.

Evelyn was a very independent, strong, hardworking woman. She spread herself thin trying to show her love for everyone. Evelyn’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved them all beyond measure. Anyone that every spoke with Evelyn knew the love she had for her family. Even though Evelyn was not a member of a church, she was a true believer and spoke of God often. She touched many lives in her lifetime and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sonja Floyd, brothers, Jimmie Dale Lemons, Roger Lyn Lemons, and Joey Don Lemons.

Evelyn is survived by sons, Paul David Lemons of Hugo, OK, James Edward Lemons of California and Tony Douglas Wells and spouse, Carl Wells of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Billy Lemons of Hugo, OK and Jackie Lemons of Hugo, OK; sisters, Patsy Jean Carpenter of Chicota, TX and Betty Jo Redus of Petty, TX; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
