graduated early from HHS and went to Birmingham Southern for one semester (second half of senior year). Had graduation party accidentally in my parents' backyard (sorry about that Ann and Larry!)
Started at Emory University August 1988, got married, graduated from Emory University, had baby Chase, moved back to Huntsville, started grad school at University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, got divorced.
Woke up one day in December 1993 realizing that adulthood lasts forever - and at age 23 I had a Masters degree, fulltime job, divorce, and a 2 year old to raise alone - and i was living in Huntsville AL again! Why did I want to grow up so fast!? You know how hard it is to get my parents to babysit for me to go to Mardi Gras?!
Not a lot has changed since then. I did finally escape Huntsville and moved to metro DC area 8 years ago to self-actualize, and my daughter gets more amazing & a year older each year. As soon as Chase graduates from high school next year, I'm off to my next adventure as an "empty nester"! I'll be reliving my 20s with all the advantages of being 39!
